ODESSA, Mo. (September 16, 2024) – It was an impressive weekend at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” for Xavier Doney, Doney-Lawson Racing, and the Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Cars, not only accumulating three consecutive top-tens during the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint Series Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial, but simultaneously accumulating back-to-back podiums during non-wing WAR action, the second of which a victory to close out the weekend on Saturday, September 14. Doney, a winner at Lucas Oil with the wing on just one month prior, finished no worse than ninth in his five main events contested – an historical achievement for the Odessa, Missouri, wheelman.

Doney, ace of the  Schnee-Lawson Chassis, Motor Haven, Design Source Flooring, Able Group, Schaeffer’s Lubricants, No. 74 sprint car, finished ninth, seventh, and eighth in his trio of winged POWRi Outlaw Sprint Series starts at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Impressive enough, two of the three top-tens were the product of impressive charges; 15th to seventh on Friday, September 13, and 17th to eighth on Saturday, September 14.

As noted, the Odessa hotshoe entered Friday and Saturday’s WAR programs, as well, concluding action with a third-place finish on Friday and the aforementioned victory on Saturday. Doney started sixth on the WAR grid, climbing ahead before taking command from Kobe Simpson on lap 14. The WAR triumph was the seventh of Doney’s career.

“I was waiting for the lines to come in in the feature, with everyone being so fast out here and throwing sliders, I just stuck to the bottom and ran my line,” said a victorious Xavier Doney in Lucas Oil Speedway victory lane. “It really feels amazing to be here and win such a special event, to be honest, I’ll be waking up tomorrow pinching myself to make sure it’s not a dream.”

Natalie Doney, Xavier Doney’s younger sister and Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Cars teammate, also entered action at Lucas Oil Speedway, participating in the POWRi Outlaw segment, as well. Although unable to qualify for main event action, her ability shows promise and looks forward to the rest of the year.
