Xavier to join High Limit Racing in two-day Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

ODESSA, Mo. (June 5, 2024) – Despite being forced to settle with a ‘DNF’ in Knoxville Raceway’s Corn Belt Clash finale on Saturday, June 1, Xavier Doney and Doney-Lawson Racing put on a show in Friday’s USAC National Sprint Cars opener, not only assembling a sound preliminary effort that allowed the Odessa, Missouri, native to qualify for the evening’s 25-lap main event, but ultimately conclude the program within the top-ten.

Doney, ace of the Schnee-Lawson Chassis house car, Motor Haven, No. 74 sprinter, opened Friday’s preliminary effort with the seventh-fastest qualifying time of 27 entries, racing on to finish third during heat race competition. Doney’s main event performance concluded with a four-spot jump from row five to finish sixth.

Prior to Saturday’s topple resulting in the aforementioned ‘DNF,’ Doney was on pace to repeat Friday’s successes, qualifying ninth overall before winning his respective heat race. The 18-year-old started seventh on Saturday’s 30-lap grid before an end-over-end turnover ended his campaign.

Natalie Doney, Xavier’s younger sister and stablemate within the Doney-Lawson Racing banner, competed in the 305 sprint car ranks at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri, on Saturday, June 1. Like her brother’s Friday night USAC outcome, Natalie earned a top-ten in her Valley visit, concluding the program ninth after starting from the outside of row two.

Natalie was scheduled to compete at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, on Friday, but Mother Nature had other plans.

Xavier Doney will continue his 2024 campaign with I-70 Speedway’s Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race featuring High Limit Racing on Friday and Saturday, June 7-8. Saturday’s finale will award a $26,000 payday.
