Doney-Lawson Racing gears up for Bill Lawson Memorial at Valley Speedway

ODESSA, Mo. (June 17, 2024) – It was a successful weekend in the Midwest for Xavier Doney, Natalie Doney, and all of Doney-Lawson Racing, not only going two-for-two in the top-five category, but securing a victory in the process, that of which accomplished by Xavier Doney at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa, on Friday, June 14.
Doney, ace of the Doney-Lawson Racing, Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Car, No. 74 non-wing sprinter, earned his victory during POWRi WAR / Western Iowa Non-Wing Sprintcars competition, taking command on lap two from row two before driving on to a fifth-career Series victory. In fact, it was a perfect evening for the Odessa, Missouri, native, securing a heat race triumph to launch the night.
Doney was scheduled to compete in another WAR event at Shelby County Speedway on Saturday, June 15, but Mother Nature stepped in and ruined the occasion.
As noted, Xavier’s younger sister Natalie Doney also secured a top-five in her recent weekend of competition, doing so during 305 sprint car action at Nevada Speedway in Nevada, Missouri, on Saturday, June 15. In contention for victory, Natalie was in a battle for the runner-up spot when a near-catastrophe occurred, almost caught up in a spin with the car directly in front of her. Luckily, the young lady out of Odessa avoided a complete turnaround and raced on to finish fourth.

Won WAR main event at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa, on Friday, June 14.
Natalie Doney finished ninth during 305 sprint car competition at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri, on Saturday, June 1. Finished fourth during 305 sprint car action at Nevada Speedway in Nevada, Missouri, on Saturday, June 15.
