Zearfoss earns top-five in New York; Eldora Speedway doubleheader ahead
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, Pa. (September 17, 2018) – Molding into a competitive operation, Brock Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports continued their 2018 campaign with a pair of All Star Circuit of Champions events in New York and Pennsylvania during the recent weekend, highlighting the trip with a top-five finish at Outlaw Speedway on Friday, September 14.
After finishing fifth in the evening’s All Star dash, which placed the ‘Jonestown Jet’ on the inside of row three for the start of the 30-lap main event, Zearfoss went on to battle hard during his second Outlaw Speedway visit of the season and maintain a position inside the top-five the entire distance, eventually crossing under the final checkers fourth behind fellow All Star full-timers Aaron Reutzel, Ryan Smith, and winner, Carson Macedo. The Dundee, N.Y., oval has been kind to Zearfoss in 2018, actually setting ‘quick time’ during his first visit in June.
Unfortunately, Zearfoss was unable to transition his momentum from Outlaw Speedway to Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night, September 15. Zearfoss was forced to retire early from Jim Nace Memorial/National Open competition after being involved in an on-track incident during the closing circuits. Zearfoss was scored 20th after starting 12th on the grid.
“I’m beginning to really like Outlaw Speedway. I raced micro sprints there when I was young and ever since then, I’ve been comfortable with the place. I wish we could have put a better run together on Saturday to complete the weekend, but it didn’t mold out as planned. All we can do now is move forward and try again,” Brock Zearfoss said, driver of the familiar Destiny Motorsports No. 4. “We have a big weekend ahead at Eldora Speedway. That’s all I’m worried about right now.”
Brock Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports will continue their 2018 schedule with back-to-back nights of competition at the world-famous Eldora Speedway, set to join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and All Star Circuit of Champions during the historic 4-Crown Nationals weekend. Zearfoss will kick-off the two-day blockbuster with World of Outlaws action on Friday, September 21, followed by a complete All Star Circuit of Champions program on Saturday, September 22.
