Zearfoss happy with Eldora results, Sets aim at National Open and Port Royal

JONESTOWN, PA. (October 10, 2016) – The long tow west to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, proved to be beneficial and rewarding for the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss; earning a 13th-place feature finish during his first-ever appearance at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, bettering most of the 40-car field that signed in on Saturday night, October 8. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native started on the outside of row nine for the $5,000-to-win program, qualifying for the main event by finishing fifth during his respective heat race.

“Eldora Speedway is a unique place. We definitely learned a lot while we were out there,” Zearfoss explained. “We had things pretty close right out of the box. We had the bottom working really well during the feature until the rubber showed up. I’m proud of my entire team. Taking the time to drive out there, plus prep for a race track that we’ve never even seen before, is really demanding on a small team like us. It really showed our versatility. I’m happy with how our weekend went. We’ll move on and prepare to race at home!”

Brock Zearfoss, a two-time main event winner thus far in 2016, will continue his 2016 campaign with a pair of World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series events in Central Pennsylvania, beginning with the rescheduled, $25,000-to-win, Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, October 14. His second World of Outlaws start of the upcoming weekend will take shape at the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, October 15. The “Jonestown Jet” owns main event victories at each of the Central Pennsylvania half-miles in 2016; his career first victory at each facility.
