JONESTOWN, Pa. (October 11, 2021) – The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss was welcomed back to Port Royal Speedway with open arms over the weekend, joining his fellow World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series travelers for the two-day Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 8-9. Awarding a total winner’s share equaling $25,000, the Nittany Showdown featured the World of Outlaws in Pennsylvania for the final time this season.

The two-day showcase resulted in a consistent effort for the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native and former Port Royal Speedway track champion, eventually capping the two-day affair with an average finish of 12th, kicking off the weekend with an 11th-place score on Friday followed by a 13th-place score on Saturday. Impressive to say, Zearfoss was forced to earn his consistent results the hard way, first climbing 12 positions on Friday, then climbing another pair of spots on Saturday. Zearfoss’ Friday outcome was the product of the Last Chance Showdown, finishing third to qualify for the $10,000-to-win A-Main.

In all, Zearfoss’ results were sound enough to keep the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender ninth in the overall driver standings.

“It felt good to be home, that’s for sure,” Zearfoss expressed, who owns 21 top-tens on the World of Outlaws campaign trail this season. “We’ve turned a lot of laps at Port Royal so we were pretty excited to have the opportunity to get back there and race. There’s nothing we would have loved more than to win in front of our home fans and partners, but I think our results speak for themselves. The guys worked hard all weekend. We get to spend a few extra days at home before we have to leave again so we’re going to suck that up, for sure.”

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will take a weekend off before resuming the 2021 season on Friday, October 22, with the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.
