JONESTOWN, Pa. (November 29, 2021) – The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss and car owner, Clayton Snow, proved to be almost unstoppable in Arizona Speedway’s annual Copper Classic, not only capping the ASCS Southwest Region doubleheader with a pair of podium finishes, but scoring a victory in the process. Impressive, nonetheless, Zearfoss’ Copper Classic finale triumph, resulting in a $7,500 payday, was accomplished without a nose wing, as it was lost during incidental contact with a slowing lapped car. Despite the ensuing chaos, Zearfoss was able to maintain control and not stop resulting in his position being maintained.
Zearfoss’ eventual margin of victory equaled 2.453-seconds, nailing down a first-ever ASCS Southwest Region win; a first-ever ASCS sanction victory, period.
“What a weekend,” Zearfoss said, driver of Clayton Snow’s MPE, King Racing Products, Triple-X Chassis, Gary Silva Ranches, No. 7 sprint car. “I can’t thank Clayton Snow enough for this opportunity. To come out here and show that much speed right out of the gate says so much about his operation. It’s a shame Arizona Speedway is closing, but to add my name to their history books is pretty special.”
All but winning the $2,500 Copper Classic lidlifter just one night prior, Zearfoss opened his weekend at Arizona Speedway with a runner-up performance, nearly out dueling Sam Hafertepe, Jr. in the final corner. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native led the first nine circuits before losing command to Hafertepe; Zearfoss started from the pole position.
