MAUMEE, OH (7-26-12) by Scott Porter – F.A.S.T. Public Relations

After another intense weekend of racing, the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) Championship Series presented by Engine Pro and KS Sales & Service return to the two 1/3-mile clay ovals for yet another weekend of stout competition. Some drivers will look to right the ship, while others will look to build off of their momentum as they try to capture the $10,000 to win crown. Just six events remain on the schedule and the points are tightening atop the F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup point standings.

A ruling Monday by the promoters of Fremont Speedway brought on a change to both the posted finishing order of the Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Championship Series and the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series feature finishes. It was determined that both current F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup points leader Bryan Sebetto and 305 sprint car driver Dustin Dinan had performed acts that are degrading to the sport of sprint car racing with separate altercations last Saturday night. As a results both drivers will be scored in last place for their respective feature events and both Sebetto and Dinan have been placed on probation for the rest of the season at Fremont Speedway. In addition to the change of finish and probation, both drivers have lost all money earned from that night and fined $500 each, which will be put towards the Fremont Speedway points fund.

As a result of the sanctions handed down by Fremont Speedway, Bryan Sebetto’s lead atop the F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup points standings has been shaved down to 31-points ahead of former champion Craig Mintz. Wooster, Ohio’s Dean Jacobs sits in third 22-points back of Mintz after a late race incident sent him to the tail with 5-laps to go. Phil Gressman and Byron Reed sit in fourth and fifth separated by just 3-points.

The ruling had a bigger effect on the overall picture of the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series, as Dustin Dinan drops from third in the standings to sixth position. D.J. Foos now sits 53-points ahead of Nate Dussel, while Jamie Miller moves into third position just 6-points back of Dussel. Fan favorite John Ivy and Jason Keckler round out the top-5. The points battle for F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series is set to heat up again the first weekend of August.

Attention can now turn back to the racing action on the two premier 1/3-mile clay ovals in Northern Ohio as the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title returns to Attica Raceway Park on Friday, July 27th. Mintz will look to chip away at Sebetto’s lead as the Gibsonburg, Ohio native has been one of the most consistent drivers at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speed plant in 2012. In the six F.A.S.T. events contested at the Attica speed plant, the worst finish for the Reel-Geese Decoys, Ti22 Preformance, KS Sales & Service #09 was a 10th place finish, which came just last week. Mintz has finished in the top-5 at the other five events and has two wins and two runner-up finishes giving him an average finish of 3rd at Attica. Sebetto and the Hammer Motorsports #24H has a series leading 3 feature wins at the high banks of Atttica.

The competition moves on to Fremont Speedway on Saturday, July 28th where Phil Gressman has reigned supreme over the field. In six F.A.S.T. events held at “The Track That Action Built,” Gressman has an average finish of 5th place and has yet to finish outside the top-10. A feature win for the Helena, Ohio native would certainly pole vault the Bobby’s Truck & Bus Repair/ Keizer Aluminum Wheels #53 machine into the championship picture. Sebetto and Dean Jacobs both have a pair of feature wins at the 1/3-mile clay oval located inside the Sandusky County Fairgrounds.
