Cody Bova Looks to Bounce Back After ‘Rough’ Weekend at Mercer Raceway Park
Potential Three-Race Schedule Ahead in Western Pennsylvania

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Struthers, Ohio (July 6th, 2015) – After a rather disappointing weekend at Mercer Raceway Park, resulting in one ‘DNF’ and a 14th place performance, Struthers, Ohio native Cody Bova will move ahead and aim his focus towards a potential three-race plan this Friday, Saturday and Sunday back in the heart of western Pennsylvania. Bova, pilot of the Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, J.S. Paris Excavating, no. 20B ‘305’ sprint car, hopes to ‘shake off’ his Mercer visit and search for season win number four during one of his three upcoming starts.

“We had a bad weekend” said Cody Bova regarding his recent visit to Mercer Raceway Park, “That was pretty much a season low for us. We were on the right track on Friday but ended up getting upside down. On Saturday, we just couldn’t get going. We have a lot of work to do this week. A lot of racing planned this weekend so we’ll use it as a fresh starting point.”

Cody Bova spent the most recent weekend at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; joining the ‘Outlaw Sprint Warriors’ in his familiar ‘20B’ for two full programs during the two-day Independence Day weekend special. Unfortunately, Cody Bova would ignite his weekend at the Mercer bullring with a ‘DNF’ finish on Friday night, July 3rd, after getting upside down during feature competition. Bova was racing inside the top-five until he was forced to the outer edge of the racetrack. The ‘Buckeye State’ native would catch a rut and rollover multiple times.

Cody Bova’s ‘tough’ weekend at Mercer Raceway Park would continue on Saturday night, July 4th with a 14th place finish during feature competition. The twenty-one-year-old started the Saturday night main event on the inside of the eleventh row; charging seven positions, but still falling short of expectation.

“We’ll put that weekend behind us” said Bova, “The plan is to race at three different tracks this weekend. This is a great opportunity for myself to gain some momentum back. I just want to thank all of my sponsors, my family and Skip Dougherty for the opportunities this year. We have a lot of season to go. Hopefully we can take advantage of that.”

Cody Bova will jump start his upcoming weekend on Friday night, July 10th at the Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pennsylvania. Bova will return to the driver seat of the Skip Dougherty Racing, V.G. Dougherty Real Estate, LLC., Court Reporting, Utilities and Industries, no. 27 ‘305’ sprint car for the ‘regular’ Friday night program. The Dougherty/Bova duo have one win together at the Thunder Mountain Speedway in 2015.

On Saturday, July 11th, Cody Bova and Bova Racing will return to the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; continuing their trek towards a 2015 ‘Outlaw Sprint Warrior’ track championship. Bova has two ‘305’ sprint car victories at the Mercer short track in 2015. A track championship this season would be a career-first for the young man out of Struthers.

If all goes according to plan, Cody Bova will race for a third time during the upcoming weekend on Sunday evening, July 12th at the Sportsman’s Speedway near Knox, Pennsylvania. ‘Bonzai’ Bova will either pilot his own Bova Racing ‘20B,’ or the Skip Dougherty Racing ‘27.’ A decision will be made in the near future.
