FOREST, Ohio (July 14, 2020) – A competitive outing, nonetheless, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports made the tow to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, over the recent weekend and joined the best of  the USAC National Sprint Car Series for the annual Corn Belt Nationals on Friday and Saturday, July 10-11.

Joining more than 50 of the nation’s finest non-wing sprint car competitors, Westfall qualified for each of the USAC main events and finished 19th and 17th, respectively. The 2019 Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) champion earned his way into the 30-lap finale by winning his respective qualifier. 

Westfall’s Friday night qualifying method was a fourth-place performance during his respective heat race. 

“It was a fun weekend at Knoxville Raceway. I think our potential was a little greater than where we finished, but we qualified for one of the biggest races of our sport, so we’ll take that and run with it,” Matt Westfall said, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “We’ll take what we learned and put it to good use over the rest of our season. We’re hungry for that first win, so hopefully we can get there soon.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2020 campaign with another doubleheader weekend, this time entering action within Indiana and Ohio. The Forest, Ohio-based motorsports team will enter competition at Gas City I-69 Speedway on Friday, July 17, followed by BOSS action at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, July 18. Westfall is the defending BOSS winner at Fremont; one of four BOSS wins for the familiar No. 33M in 2019.
