chckrd continues progress with building dirt following

BYRAM, Conn. (May 15, 2020) – Since launching in April, chckrd, the subscription-based social app with a racing-only attitude, has been attracting motorsports enthusiasts from all levels at an exponential rate, and although the app welcomes racers and fans across all disciplines of racing, the chckrd team has been working hard to capture the attention from everything on dirt.

Led by chckrd Founder and Crew Chief, Chris Muller, the app’s team is building relationships with premier dirt track facilities from around the world. Determined to create a trickle-up economic effect, “The chckrd Model” seeds the racing community through individual subscriptions which accumulate and produce larger purses. When tracks meet specific thresholds in terms of a following, chckrd sponsors “The People’s Purse.” While providing a concentrated, noise-free, social platform is important, the chance to give back to motorsports is equally vital to chckrd’s mission statement.

The chckrd story has been actively shared on the airwaves with Muller being featured, or already featured on many of the internet’s most popular dirt-related podcasts.

“Podcasters are super important to racing and their passion and energy are infectious. It’s really fun talking racing and getting the chckrd message out there. I love doing podcasts,” said Chris Muller.

Despite the ongoing social distancing guidelines as the result of COVID-19 preventing many of the country’s facilities from opening their gates, Muller believes there is an unfortunate/fortunate opportunity for tracks to push chckrd and chckrd’s mission, as fans are desperate to find new ways to scratch the racing itch and support the sport they love so much.

“While we wish this pandemic never happened and feel for everyone affected by it, the fact is it’s amplified one of the founding reasons we built chckrd. Big social is not only noisy but it can become emotionally draining. With the chckrd app, people can take a mental break and fall into nothing but racing.”

About chckrd:
Launched in April of 2020, chckrd was developed for the sole purpose for which it was intended, motorsports. The subscription-based app gives the motorsports community a racing specific social platform to share information pertaining to everything on wheels. After subscribing and building a profile, users have the availability to join a variety of groups specific to their racing interests. In addition, members ultimately benefit racing, as portions of their subscription is designated to increase monthly purses. chckrd is currently available in the Android and Apple Marketplaces.

Michael drives Clayton Snow Racing to a top-five at Marysville

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (May 11, 2020) – T.J. Michael’s first start of the 2020 season was impressive. Not only did the ‘Texas Traveler’ advance seven positions during main event action, Michael did so during his first-ever start for Clayton Snow Racing, all while competing at Marysville Raceway in Marysville, California, for the first time in his career.

Joining Marysville Raceway’s 360 sprint car field for the COVID-19 Challenge, Michael’s California debut on May 9 kicked-off with a fourth-place finish during heat race competition, soon followed by his skilled rally from the inside of row six to finish fourth during the evening’s main event. A restart with three circuits remaining allowed Michael to advance one final position to secure his aforementioned finish.

“That was a lot of fun,” Michael said, driver of the Snow Racing/West Coast Race Parts/No. 7 sprint car. “To be competitive like that right out of the box says so much about Clayton Snow and his equipment. Things just kinda clicked for us right from the start and we had fun the entire night. I’m excited for the opportunity to race for Snow Racing again in the future. I am more than thankful for the opportunity.”

Although Michael’s extended schedule is still uncertain due to ongoing restrictions as the result of COVID-19, the Plano, Texas-native will be making his way to Ohio to test his family-owned No. 8M sprint car next weekend. A return to California may arise if racing in the Buckeye State does not begin.

“I couldn’t be more excited right now,” Michael continued. “We’re hoping things get underway much sooner than later in other areas of the country. I want to put this momentum to good use.”

Dietrich represents Posse well at Knoxville Raceway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 11, 2020) – Although Dietrich’s plan to complete a massive weekend doubleheader in Iowa and Pennsylvania was deleted due to Pennsylvania’s ongoing social distancing restrictions as the result of COVID-19, ‘Double-D’ still made the trip to Iowa on Friday, May 8, and entered action with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Joining a loaded, 48-car field which included many of the world’ top sprint car aces, Dietrich represented his Pennsylvania fanbase well on Friday night at Knoxville Raceway and finished 12th after starting ninth during the 30-lap program, securing his spot in the evening’s main event with a third-place finish during his respective heat race. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native kicked-off his evening in Iowa with the 11th fastest time during his respective flight of qualifying time trials.

“I think we showed some speed, but there’s always room to improve. It was nice to turn some laps again,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “I can’t thank my team enough for the hard word, and I can’t thank my partners for allowing this trip to happen, especially Start 2 Finish Complete Property Maintenance. Our racing schedule came to a halt pretty quick, but the work never stopped. We’re ready to keep this season rolling, so hopefully things start to open up and we can begin racing regularly again.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing have not yet finalized plans for the coming weekend, but discussions do include the possibility of visiting Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, for the Great Lakes Shootout on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16. The two-day spectacle will award $5,000 and $7,000 top prizes, respectively.

“We don’t really have a final plan yet,” Dietrich remarked. “We are going to watch the weather and keep an eye on local racing in Pennsylvania. If things start to happen in PA, we have no reason to leave. Only time will tell at this point.”

Track: St. Francois County Raceway (Farmington, Missouri)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): DNF (12th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (May 11, 2020) – Although it was not the start the team was in search of, Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing gained valuable lap time during their recent trip to the Midwest, first joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Knoxville Raceway on Friday, May 8, followed by a visit to St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Missouri, on Saturday, May 9.

After a 20th-place score at the Sprint Car Capital of the World on Friday, Abreu was well on his way to a top-ten performance at St. Francois on Saturday when a rock knocked loose a fuel nozzle forcing the St. Helena, California-native to retire from main event competition before the finish. Abreu started 12th on the grid and raced his way to sixth before the misfortune occurred.

Abreu earned his way into Knoxville Raceway’s main event by way of a third place finish during the evening’s Last Chance Showdown, the product of row three. There were 48 cars on hand for the Return to Racing Invitational.

“We didn’t have the results we wanted, but we’re going to keep working hard and do what we have to do to improve. The outcome at St. Francois was just tough luck, but I still think we could have been better before that,” Rico Abreu said, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Lucas Oil/No. 24 sprint car. “It was a long trip east from California, so I’m proud of my guys for working hard and getting us to that point.”

Although Abreu’s upcoming plans are tentative, preliminary discussions include visiting Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, for the Great Lakes Shootout on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16. Fans are encouraged to stay alert on social media for any schedule changes and last minute updates.

Schatz returns to racing with top-ten at Knoxville Raceway

Date: Friday, May 8th
Event: Return to Racing Behind Closed Doors Invitational
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 6th (10th)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (May 11, 2020) – Despite a lengthy delay due to ongoing social distancing restrictions as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz finally resumed his 2020 campaign and joined the Greatest Show On Dirt for the WoO Invitational at Knoxville Raceway on Friday, May 8.

Schatz’ return to the cockpit of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Advance Professional/Carquest Auto Parts/Technet Professional Automotive Service/Ford Performance/Mobil 1/Sage Fruit/Curb Records/No. 15 sprint car proved successful, concluding his visit to the Sprint Car Capital of the World with a sixth-place run after starting tenth on the feature grid.

Impressive enough, Schatz’ eventual top-ten outcome, his fourth consecutive during World of Outlaws competition this season, was the product of perseverance, eventually forced to rally from the outside of row four to finish third during heat race competition. Schatz’ position on the heat race grid was the result of his 15th-fastest time during his respective group of qualifying time trials.

There were 48 entries on hand for the World of Outlaws Invitational.

“It feels good to be back in a sprint car,” Donny Schatz said, who owns one World of Outlaws victory thus far in 2020. “It was a solid team effort on Friday night. We kinda had to dig ourselves out of a hole in our heat race, but luckily for me, I work with the best team in racing and they provided me with a car capable of doing the job. We had a lot of downtime over the last few months, but the guys came out with a lot of confidence and motivation and I’m proud of them. Hopefully we can keep this going and get back to victory lane.”

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will not resume World of Outlaws competition until the Series visits Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, May 22-23. The two-day program will award a total winner’s share equalling $16,000; $6,000 during Friday’s preliminary and $10,000 during Saturday’s finale.

Schatz is a former World of Outlaws winner on the highbanks of I-55, most recently scoring the Prelude to the Ironman victory in 2015.

Michael aims for success in California

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (May 8, 2020) – Although delayed, the ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael will finally activate his 2020 campaign, and despite the ongoing restrictions and social distancing orders put into place at the federal and state levels, tracks are doing everything they can to work within the parameters so their seasons can commence. Fortunately for Michael, one of those facilities is within reach.

Marysville Raceway in Marysville, California, roughly 40 miles north of the state capital, will open its gates to competitors on Saturday evening, May 9, and host 360 sprint car action. Even though the Marysville visit was not on the team’s original agenda, Michael will take full-advantage of the opportunity to drive for Clayton Snow Racing and ultimately work for a first-ever victory in the Golden State.

“With everything going on, we weren’t exactly sure if we’d ever get a chance to race with each other. Luckily for (Clayton Snow Racing) and I, Marysville was able to put a program together and I was on the first plane out of Texas,” Michael said, a Texas-native who spends his summers in Fremont, Ohio, while racing throughout the region for his family-owned team. “Clayton Snow Racing gave me a great opportunity at the beginning of the season. We were supposed to race upwards of 12 Outlaw shows during their West Coast Swing, that until things started to shut down. That’s OK,  we’ll take things one race at a time and hopefully build a great relationship. I’m really excited to get started.”

Although spectators will not be permitted on the grounds at Marysville Raceway, fans are encouraged to watch online via www.speedshifttv.com. Coverage of the 360 sprint car headliner is expected to begin at 6 p.m. local time.
