Danny Dietrich highlights Florida trip with All Star top-ten at Volusia Speedway Park

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (February 17, 2020) – Danny Dietrich’s 2020 Florida trip was as busy as it was competitive, eventually ending his visit to the Sunshine State with eight nights of competition, seven consecutive, on February 5-13, entering All Star Circuit of Champions, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and open 360c.i. events in the process.

Eight nights of action translated into eight main events starts for the 2019 Central Pennsylvania sprint car champion, highlighting all outcomes with a tenth-place performance, the result of a charge from row nine, against the All Star Circuit of Champions at Volusia Speedway Park on Thursday, February 6. A caution just as the leaders were passing under the final checkers negated further progress by Dietrich on the last lap.

In total, Dietrich entered DIRTcar Nationals action at Volusia Speedway Park on five consecutive nights finishing 13th (All Stars), the aforementioned tenth (All Stars), 20th (WoO), 15th (WoO), and 11th (WoO).

Once the sprint car portion of the DIRTcar Nationals concluded at Volusia Speedway Park, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing turned their focus toward East Bay Raceway Park where the All Star Circuit of Champions headlined action on Monday and Tuesday, February 10-11. Dietrich qualified for each of the $5,000-to-win A-Mains and finished 22nd and 13th, respectively.

East Bay’s stout field of 410c.i. sprint cars quickly made the change to 360c.i. sprint cars, as the annual King of the 360’s/Ronald Laney Memorial took over East Bay Raceway Park headlines on Thursday evening, February 13. Although Dietrich planned to participate in all three nights of action, the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native ended his run after the first night; he was scored 24th after pulling off of the speedway early.

“It was a fun week and we enjoyed ourselves. I think our results lacked our potential and capabilities, but the lap time is what we came down here for,” Danny Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet-Buick-GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “I can’t thank my team enough. A schedule like that, especially in the Florida sun, can be brutal, but they hung tough and and I’m proud of them. Our Pennsylvania season starts pretty dang soon. I’m ready to get back to Lincoln.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will activate their 2020 Central Pennsylvania season on Saturday, February 22, with the annual ‘Icebreaker’ at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway. Dietrich finished third during the $4,000-to-win showstopper in 2019.

Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports kick-off 2020 with Winter Dirt Games at Bubba Raceway Park

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FOREST, Ohio (February 17, 2020) – Kicking-off their 2020 campaign in a big way, Matt Westfall and Forest, Ohio-based Ray Marshall Motorsports made the trip to the Sunshine State during the recent weekend and joined the best of  the USAC National Sprint Series for another edition of the annual Winter Dirt Games at Bubba Raceway Park. Despite Mother Nature making an appearance and ruining the first night of action, the show went on as scheduled on Friday and Saturday, February 14-15, with 30 cars making the call on Friday and 29 entering action on Saturday.

Forced to duel with some of the best non-wing sprint car drivers in the country, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports put together a competitive weekend in Ocala, Florida, and eventually ended their two-day campaign with back-to-back main event starts, finishing 14th & 15th, respectively. Although missing the top-ten during each of the contests, Westfall advanced a total 14 main event positions and raced ahead from 19th and 24th.

“I don’t think the end results were what we wanted, but we persevered and raced well. The season is young. This was a great way for us to get our feet wet and knock some rust off,” Matt Westfall said, the 2019 Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) champion. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall enough for the opportunity to come to Florida and race. We have some time before we race again, so we’ll use that time to regroup and figure out what we need to do differently.”

Matt Westfall and the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M race team won’t return to action until March 28 when BOSS invades Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio, for their $3,000-to-win season opener.

TJ Michael pairs with Clayton Snow Racing for 12-race Outlaw swing through Texas, Arizona, California and New Mexico

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (February 13, 2020) – With his 2020 debut just four weeks away, the ‘Texas Traveler’ TJ Michael is excited to announce that he will be joining forces with Sacramento, California-based Clayton Snow Racing during the early portion of the new year, together challenging the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on 12 separate occasions beginning with a Texas doubleheader at Cotton Bowl Speedway and LoneStar Speedway on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14.

Continuing on into Arizona, and eventually California, Michael and the Clayton Snow Racing No. 7 will follow the Greatest Show On Dirt through much of their first West Coast Swing, eventually making appearances at USA Raceway and Arizona Speedway in Arizona, followed by a six-race stretch through California that includes stops at Perris Auto Speedway, Santa Maria Raceway, Thunderbowl Raceway, Merced Speedway, and Ocean Speedway. Although the team will take a week off to allow Michael the opportunity to compete in northwest Ohio, Michael and Clayton Snow Racing will reconvene and take-on the World of Outlaws at Vado Speedway Park in New Mexico on April 24-25.

“I can’t thank Clayton Snow and the entire team enough for this opportunity. This was basically the opportunity of a lifetime for me and I plan on taking full advantage of it. I’m confident we’ll put together some great results,” Michael said, a Texas-native who spends the summer months in Fremont, Ohio, where he headquarters his race team, Michael Motorsports. “I’ve raced at Cotton Bowl and LoneStar, but the tracks in Arizona, California and New Mexico will all be new. This is going to be a lot of fun.”

In addition to molding plans and ironing out a schedule with Clayton Snow Racing, TJ Michael and his own Michael Motorsports also have been hard at work, eagerly preparing for another competitive schedule in northwest Ohio, as well as the surrounding areas. Headquartered in Fremont, the 2019 Rick Ferkel Classic champions at Waynesfield Raceway Park will center much of their focus around Attica/Fremont Championship Series (AFCS) and All Star Circuit of Champions competition.

The Michael Motorsports No. 8M will make its debut during AFCS action at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, respectively.

“It’s going to be a busy year, but busy is a non-issue when you surround yourself with great people,” TJ Michael continued. “My crew has been hard at work updating our equipment and preparing cars for the new year and I think we are just about ready. We proved that we are a winning combination last year, so the goal is to do that a few more times in 2020.”

More news and updated schedules for Clayton Snow Racing and Michael Motorsports will be posted in the coming weeks. Fans should stay alert online at www.fullyinjected.com

February 10th: 4th (2nd)
February 11th: 5th (5th)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (February 12, 2020) – Entering seven consecutive nights of competition at two of Florida’s most notable facilities, Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing opened their 2020 sprint car calendar with a big agenda and padded it with big results, eventually capping their seven-day run with four top-ten finishes and highlighting all starts with back-to-back top-five performances against the All Star Circuit of Champions at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida.

The ‘Steel City Outlaw’ Tim Shaffer, a former multi-time All Star Circuit of Champions champion and Knoxville Nationals champion, helped activate Tony Stewart Racing’s 2020 season, officially, by subbing-in for three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart while he was under the weather. Shaffer filled Stewart’s shoes well and earned a pair of top-ten finishes during action at Volusia Speedway Park; sixth and ninth against the All Stars and Outlaws, respectively. Although Shaffer’s sixth-place outcome during All Star action was a result of row two, the Aliquippa, Pennsylvania-native was impressive against the World of Outlaws and earned his ninth place outcome from the outside of row nine.

After Shaffer’s five-day substitution at Volusia Speedway Park, ‘Smoke’ Tony Stewart was back in charge at East Bay Raceway Park, joining the All Star Circuit of Champions during the inaugural Jean Lynch Classic / All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Winn-Dixie. Two starts ended with back-to-back top-five finishes for the recent NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, winning each of  his respective heat races in the process, as well as winning his respective dash on Monday.

“It definitely feels good to be back in the seat. I was under the weather a little bit during the events at Volusia, but I feel a lot better now and I’m ready to get after it,” Tony Stewart expressed. “It will take a little bit of time for our team to become acclimated, but we have a lot of experience on our side and I have a great crew that knows exactly what it takes to stay competitive and motivated during a busy stretch like this.”

Unfortunately, instances of bad luck and unfavorable track conditions negated TSR the possibility of at least two additional top-ten finishes, as an abrasive surface at Volusia Speedway Park on Friday, February 6, resulted in tire issues and an eventual 15th-place finish. Also, Shaffer was caught up in an opening lap altercation during World of Outlaws action at Volusia on Saturday, February 8; he was scored 27th.

Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s upcoming plans remain uncertain, but fans are encouraged to follow along online and on social media for further updates.

Donny Schatz opens 2020 World of Outlaws campaign with victory during Volusia’s DIRTcar Nationals

Earns four consecutive top-ten finishes against All Stars and Outlaws at Volusia Speedway Park

Dates: Wednesday through Sunday, February 5th-9th
Event: 49th Annual DIRTcar Nationals
Series: All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finishes (Start):
February 5th [All Stars]: 20th (21st)
February 6th [All Stars]: 4th (7th)
February 7th [WoO]: 1st (1st)
February 8th [WoO]: 6th (9th)
February 9th [WoO]: 7th (9th)

2020 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: 424 points – third (tied with Daryn Pittman, 14 points behind leader, Brad Sweet).

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (February 10, 2020) – In traditional fashion, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing opened their 2020 campaign with DIRTcar Nationals competition at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida, participating in five straight nights of action against the All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on February 5-9.

Despite his five-day stretch activating with a 20th-place performance on Wednesday, February 5, forced to qualify for the evening’s All Star main event by way of a B-Main victory, the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion rebounded in a big way and rattled off four consecutive top-ten finishes including a victory against the Greatest Show On Dirt during its 2020 season opener on Friday, February 7. The victory, the first of Schatz’ season in the United States, was accomplished from the front row, forced to outduel fellow World of Outlaws full-timer and eventual Sunday night DIRTcar Nationals feature winner, Logan Schuchart. A power move at the exit of turn four on lap 27 sealed the deal, as Schatz utilized the thin cushion at the top of the speedway to drive around Schuchart and beat the Pennsylvania-native in a drag race back to the flagstand.

Not only did Schatz win on Friday night and secure a $10,000 payday, the 2019 World of Outlaws championship runner-up won his respective heat race and dash to kick-off the evening program.

“I’m here. I’m happy. These (Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing) guys are motivated. They’re doing everything right. We’re going to have a lot of fun. We may not win as many races as we like, but we’re going to have fun along the way. And that’s the name of the game,” Donny Schatz explained. “It’s always good to win the first one. That means you’re going to have a good year, but it’s that two through eighty-four race that count more than the first and the last one.”

Schatz’ remaining top-ten performances occurred Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; fourth against the All Star Circuit of Champions from the inside of row four on Thursday, sixth against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series after starting ninth on Saturday, each followed by a seventh-place finish after starting ninth during the DIRTcar Nationals finale on Sunday. In total, the Fargo, North Dakota-native advanced a total of nine feature positions over his five day campaign, and if an abrasive surface did not become a factor during Thursday’s All Star main event, further progress may have been possible.

Donny Schatz will resume his 2020 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a Texas doubleheader at Cotton Bowl Speedway and LoneStar Speedway on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, respectively. Schatz is a former winner at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, eventually leading every circuit of the 35-lap main event in 2017 after setting the evening’s fastest time during qualifying time trials and winning his respective heat race and dash.

The Texas trip will be flanked by a visit to Arizona, ultimately making his way west to California for several events in late March, as well as most of April.

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing builds partnership with Advance Auto Parts and its family of brands for 2020 season

Donny Schatz to promote Advance Professional, Carquest and TechNet Professional Automotive Service during upcoming WoO campaign; Tony Stewart to carry Advance Auto Parts branding

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (February 5, 2020) – Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) are pleased to announce that Advance Auto Parts, a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider that serves both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers, will continue its dedicated role within TSR in 2020 ultimately boosting its position to a primary sponsor within the championship-proven motorsports organization.

With the goal of increasing its awareness as a provider of quality parts, service and solutions to the ever-growing grass roots racing community, Advance and its family of brands, including Advance Professional, Carquest and TechNet Professional Automotive Service, will be primary partners for TSR during the new year and will be carried by 10-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz, and Tony Stewart Racing team-owner, Tony Stewart.

“We’re excited to continue our sponsorship with Tony Stewart and TSR,” said Michael Cooper, Senior Vice President, Professional Sales. “Tony Stewart and TSR are synonymous with winning and we are committed to supporting this team and look forward to a successful partnership on and off the track.”

Advance Professional, a secondary partner of TSR during much of the 2019 season, will now have primary placement on the familiar No. 15 piloted by Schatz. With plans to alternate the family of brands connected to Advance, Schatz will also represent Carquest, a network of more than 1,200 retail stores operated by independent partners servicing professional and DIY customer and Technet, a group of elite, locally-owned and professionally operated shops, on an occasional basis during the upcoming season.

Schatz will carry Advance Professional during the 2020 World of Outlaws season opener/DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida, on February 7-9. In addition to World of Outlaws success, the Fargo, North Dakota-native is a former DIRTcar Nationals champion, most recently winning four of five features to claim in the overall title in 2018; two during All Star Circuit of Champions action and two during World of Outlaws competition.

“I’m very proud to be carrying the Advance Professional, Carquest, TechNet and Advance Auto Parts colors this year,” said Schatz. “The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car Series touches many regions of our country each season and we’re proud to have the opportunity to showcase the Advance family of brands to our fans. These are iconic automotive brands and we’re looking forward to being part of the next chapter of their motorsports history.”

Stewart, who competed in 65 sprint car events in 2019 while accumulating ten victories across 360c.i. and 410c.i. competition, will carry Advance Auto Parts as his primary partner during the upcoming season, launching the year with a tentative open wheel slate in the Sunshine State, potentially joining the All Star Circuit of Champions during events at Volusia Speedway Park and East Bay Raceway Park during their respective DIRTcar Nationals and Winternationals schedules.

“We’re very proud to become a part of the motorsports initiatives of the Advance Professional, Carquest, TechNet and Advance Auto Parts brands,” said Tony Stewart. “These brands have a long and storied history of success and as the audience of sprint car racing continues to evolve, we hope to aid the Advance group in writing a new chapter in marketing and consumer reach.

“This season marks the start of a new decade and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s third in the sport of sprint car racing,” Stewart continued. “We’re excited to begin working with everyone within the Advance family and help give sprint car racing fans a new brand to explore and utilize.”
