Repeat winners Brian Swartzlander and Corey McPherson dominate from pole to checkers

Sarver, PA (June 16, 2013) The Fab Four features on either side of the Holiday Races fireworks display were more like hand-to-hand combat between a pair of drivers than they were between an entire field of cars trying to get to Sheetz Victory Lane. Though he dominated the Precise Late Model feature, John Garvin Jr. had brief but serious challenge from Michael Norris midrace. Eric Williams won a furious battle with Carl Bowser through lapped traffic and had to endure three red flag sessions to score his first win of the season. After another incredible fireworks show from the folks at Legendary Entertainment, Brian Swartzlander and Corey McPherson led their respective features from green-to-checkers, but had to fend off the advances of Mat Williamson and AJ Flick to seal the deal.

It was Daum’s second win in the series, and the first since capturing the 2011 “Hut Hundred.”

Mike Marlar Magnificent in Winning Clash at the Mag Saturday Night

Mike Marlar Magnificent in Winning Clash at the Mag Saturday Night

COLUMBUS, MS (June 15, 2013) – Mike Marlar overtook race leader, Don O’Neal with nine laps to go to take the $20,000 to win “Clash at the Mag” Presented by the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau on Saturday Night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.  Marlar’s first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win of the season was hard earned as a caution with 12 laps to go set up a great finish.

Marlar, in his first weekend piloting a Bloomquist Race Car led to the checkers holding off O’Neal and John Blankenship for his fifth career LOLMDS victory.  Point’s leader, Jimmy Owens, who started 12th, came home in fourth followed by 17th starting, Randy Weaver.

“When I saw the caution come out, I got down in some dry dirt on the bottom of the track, and then I had to clean my tires off really good for the restart,” said Marlar.  “It was good to have one more shot at it there at the end, I lined up beside Blankenship for the restart, and my car took off really well up top, and it only took us a few laps to get by O’Neal.  They had an awesome race track here tonight, we have always enjoyed coming down here to Mississippi to race, and they have a lot of great fans here.”

Points leader Niki Young comes from 10th to score “358” sprint car win

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 6/15/13 – There was no lack of talent in Saturday night’s All-Star Circuit of Champions “A” Main at Lincoln Speedway, but none of them were a match for Denver’s Alan Krimes, who dominated en route to a four-second win and the $5,000 top prize.

After finishing second in the dash, Krimes started beside Stevie Smith on the front row. He beat Smith to the first turn and was never seriously challenged.

“Getting him (Smith) on the start was everything there. I was actually surprised I could turn in off his right rear and pass him down there,” said Krimes upon exiting his Conestoga Valley Garage #87 in victory lane, “That was the biggest move of the race as far as I’m concerned. Getting ahead of Stevie, because he’s a hell of a driver.”
