Marks enjoys successful Knoxville Nationals campaign; North Dakota bound

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (August 13, 2019) – It was a successful week for the ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks, not only representing his Pennsylvania fanbase well during the 59th running of the coveted Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway, but doing so by qualifying for Saturday’s $150,000-to-win finale, eventually ending his evening by finishing 17th during the final 50-lapper.

The third-year Outlaw earned his way into the Saturday night blockbuster by finishing sixth during his respective preliminary A-Main; a sixth place performance after starting in the exact same position.

“What a week. I can’t say enough about this team and what we were able to accomplish at Knoxville Raceway. The Knoxville Nationals is the greatest spectacle of our sport and to say we qualified for the finale out of over 100 entries says so much about us and our potential. It’s a very exciting time,” Brent Marks said, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car. “Our goal is to put our Knoxville Nationals momentum to good use and earn some solid finishes this weekend in North Dakota.”

Brent Marks will continue his 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a pair of stops in North Dakota, first visiting River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday, August 16, followed by a stop at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo on Saturday, August 17.

Brock Zearfoss just short of Nationals A-Main start; Michigan and Indiana on deck

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (August 13, 2019) – The 2019 edition of the Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa, was complete with ups and downs for the ‘Jonestown Jet’ Brock Zearfoss, and although the full-time All Star and two-time Series winner in 2019 missed the overall goal of qualifying for Knoxville Nationals A-Main competition, the familiar No. 70 team showed immense speed during the four-day blockbuster, eventually ending the week with a seventh place finish during Saturday’s B-Main.

Tough to swallow, of course, Zearfoss was in a prime position to potentially lock himself into Saturday’s $150,000-to-win finale during his respective preliminary appearance on Thursday. After leading eight of the first nine laps during preliminary feature action, ignition problems set in, forcing Zearfoss to go pit-side to resolve the issue; Zearfoss was forced to settle for 19th.

“We were close. It sucks that had to happen to us, but unfortunately, that’s the way things go sometimes. We’ve been fortunate in a lot of ways this year. That night just wasn’t our night. The 19th place finish was the difference between a Saturday night A-Main start and a Saturday night B-Main start,” Zearfoss said, driver of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/River City Wood Products/No. 70 sprint car. “Regardless, I’m proud of this team and I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish. We have another busy weekend ahead. All we can do is keep plugging away.”

Brock Zearfoss will continue his 2019 All Star Circuit of Champions campaign with a doubleheader weekend in Michigan and Indiana, first setting aim on I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, on Friday, August 16, followed by a stop at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana, on Saturday, August 17. Zearfoss will enter the weekend with two All Star victories on the season, each of which taking shape in the Empire State.

Scheduled to start second row of Saturday’s B-Main

Date: Wednesday, August 7th
Event: 59th Annual Knoxville Nationals Preliminary
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 11th (24th)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (August 9, 2019) – Despite falling short of a transfer position during his respective heat race on Wednesday night at Knoxville Raceway, due in part to mechanical complications, ten-time and defending World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, persevered in a big way during Knoxville Nationals preliminary competition and drove his way to an A-Main starting position by finishing fourth during the Last Chance Showdown.

The Fargo, North Dakota-native eventually ended his evening with a hard charge from 24th to finish 11th during the 25-lap preliminary main event.

With his hard charging performance, Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 15 sprint car, locked himself into Saturday’s 59th annual Knoxville Nationals B-Main and will start on the second row. The top four finishers at the conclusion of B-Main action will transfer into Saturday’s $150,000-to-win A-Main.

Although faced with adversity, Schatz has been in this position before, actually rallying from 21st to win a Knoxville Nationals title in 2013, after winning the B-Main.

Donny Schatz is a ten-time Knoxville Nationals champion.
