Dietrich experiences tough luck in Charlotte; Potential BAPS visit on deck

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 11, 2019) – Although his 2019 World Finals campaign was engulfed with bad luck and frustrating results, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich made the most of his visit to The Dirt Track at Charlotte and concluded the three-day World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series finale with one main event start, missing a second by a pair of Last Chance Showdown (LCS) positions. The 14-time feature winner in 2019 highlighted all World Finals results with a 20th place feature score on Saturday, November 9.

Despite an eighth place outing in Friday’s Last Chance Showdown, ultimately missing main event competition, Dietrich put on an impressive display to get to that position; winning the evening’s C-main before rallying from 17th in the LCS. A mechanical misfortune during his respective heat race was the evening’s overall catalyst.

“The last two months have not been kind to us. If it weren’t for bad luck, we would have no luck at all. We’re ready for this chapter to be over,” Danny Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “Regardless, it was a great season for our team and I’m proud of my guys. I think we had enough potential to win three or four more races this year, but we’ll keep our heads up high and keep working hard. That’s all we can do.”

If all goes according to plan, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will make the short trip to BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven on Saturday, November 16, and participate in the annaul Sprint Showdown; the final 410 sprint car race in the United States for 2019. The afternoon showstopper will award a $10,000 top prize.

JONESTOWN, Pa. (November 11, 2019) – Although the three-time All Star Circuit of Champions winner in 2019 missed World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series main event competition on Saturday to conclude his annual trip to Charlotte, the ‘Jonestown Jet’ Brock Zearfoss certainly put together an impressive campaign on Friday at The Dirt Track and finished 11th during feature action.

Michael enjoys visit to Texas Motor Speedway, looks ahead to 2020

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (November 4, 2019) – Despite his overall weekend results lacking an A-main appearance, T.J. Michael’s visit to Texas Motor Speedway for the annual Texas Sprint Car Nationals on October 31 & November 1 proved to be a worthwhile experience, ultimately facing-off against a star-studded field of sprint car racing talent comprised of 360 hotshots, as well as 410 aces.

Not only did Michael have the opportunity to compete against some of the best sprint car drivers in the world, he did so in front of a very familiar crowd.

“It definitely feels great to be back in Texas,” T.J. Michael said, a Plano, Texas-native who spends the majority of his racing calendar planted in Fremont, Ohio. “As you can imagine, having a race team headquartered in Ohio doesn’t leave a lot of opportunities to race in Texas, so when this event popped up on the schedule, we knew we were all in. Having the opportunity to race in front of my hometown friends and family creates a feeling like nothing else. Also, a number of our partners are from Texas, so that gave us the chance to promote their services in front of a more local audience.”

The pair of ASCS National Tour starts resulted in a pair of B-main appearances for Michael; he finished fifth during B-main competition on both nights. Forty cars were on hand for the Texas Sprint Car Nationals opener on Thursday, October 31, followed by a field of 39 for the finale on Friday, November 1.

The event was held in conjunction with the NASCAR visit to Texas Motor Speedway.

With Michael’s 2019 schedule now complete, the ‘Texas Traveler’ will begin the tedious process of rebuilding for 2020. As years prior, Michael will build his schedule as others become available, eventually unveiling his plans after the new year.

“We’ll take our time and get everything ready for next season,” Michael added. “Hopefully we have the opportunity to begin our year with some racing in the South. Only time will tell.”

Rico Abreu caps 2019 sprint car season with Tribute to Gary Patterson/SCCT victory at Stockton

Dates: Friday and Saturday, November 1st & 2nd
Event: Tribute to Gary Patterson
Series: Open, Sprint Car Challenge Tour and King of the West-NARC
Track: Stockton Dirt Track (Stockton, California)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: [Open 360] DNF
Saturday: [SCCT 360] 1st (1st)
Saturday: [KWS-NARC 410] 8th (7th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (November 4, 2019) – Although his winning streak was ultimately forced to end at six after brake issues during open 360 sprint car action at Stockton Dirt Track on November 1 cut all hope for a seventh straight trip to victory lane, St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu did not allow the momentum shift to slow down his winning potential, eventually capping his two-day stint in Stockton with a Sprint Car Challenge Tour (SCCT) triumph during the Tribute to Gary Patterson on Saturday, November 2.

The $7,000 victory, Abreu’s second of the 2019 season with the 360 sprint car series, was accomplished in convincing fashion, eventually holding off fellow California-native, Shane Golobic, during the closing circuits. Abreu, who will officially close out his 2019 sprint car season with 13 victories, now owns five Tribute to Gary Patterson trophies.

In addition to his SCCT win, Abreu finished eighth during the King of the West-NARC portion of the Gary Patterson program, kicking things off with a fourth place performance during heat race action.

“It was another great weekend for our team. I think we left a little bit on the table during the King of the West race at Stockton, but we had things right where they needed to be for the Sprint Car Challenge Tour portion. I owe that all to my team. Things have been clicking and I’m more than proud of their efforts,” Rico Abreu said, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Gold State Restaurant Group/Lucas Oil Products/Southern Pacific Farms/Priority Aviation/Self Made Racing/Dancer Logistics/No. 24 sprint car. “We are already looking ahead to next year. Hopefully we can keep this momentum flowing until our next start in a sprint car.”

Tony Stewart Finishes (Start):
Friday: B-Main/Did Not Start
Saturday: A-Main 3rd (3rd)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (November 4, 2019) – Although his Thursday night visit to Texas Motor Speedway ended short of main event competition, forced to retire during A-main qualifier action after a front wheel came apart from the car, ‘Smoke’ Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing persevered in a big way and rallied to finish on the podium the following evening.

Stewart was winning his respective A-main qualifier when the front-end trouble occurred.

Smoke, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car, went on to finish third during the Tony Stewart presents the Vankor Texas Sprint Car Nationals finale on Friday, November 1; he started in the exact same position.

Despite finishing two spots shy of the ultimate goal, Stewart was in a position to capitalize the entire distance, actually leading laps 20-22 before losing command to eventual winner, Scott Bogucki, on lap 23.

Sanctioned by the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS), Smoke kicked-off Friday evening with a third place finish during his respective heat race, followed by a victory during the evening’s second A-main qualifier.

“It was great to get back to Texas,” Tony Stewart noted, a ten-time sprint car winner in 2019 who was also inducted into the Texas Motorsports Hall of Fame during the recent weekend. “I think we had the speed necessary to be competitive on Thursday, but mechanical issues happen. Lucky for me, I have a team that never gives up. We were able to pick up right where we left off.”

Tony Stewart’s upcoming plans remain uncertain. Fans should stay alert online, as well as on social media, for any updates regarding Smoke’s sprint car agenda.

Michael welcomes new partners for Texas ASCS start

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (October 28, 2019) – The ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael is back in Texas, and although the vast majority of his 2019 season is complete, the Plano, Texas-native still has some unfinished business in the Lone Star State.

Michael, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Soul Fully Rooted/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car, will join the ASCS National Tour during the coming weekend, ready to invade the Texas Motor Speedway dirt track on Thursday and Friday, October 31 and November 1.

In addition to a 360c.i. power plant provided by Mike Melton, a number of partners came on board to help Michael battle the best 360 sprint car racers in the country during his time in Texas including Trophy Tractor and Roc Construction. Crown Battery, already a staple within Michael Motorsports, will boost their support in Michael’s Texas campaign, helping the recent FAST Series winner work to accomplish a first-ever ASCS triumph.

“I’m excited to race in my home state. I don’t have many chances to do so, so I’m going to take full advantage of the opportunity,” Michael explained, who spends his summer months in Fremont, Ohio, while competing throughout the state and surrounding areas. “I can’t thank all of my partners enough for their hard work and dedication. We are fortunate enough to welcome Trophy Tractor and Roc Construction to our team for the coming weekend. Crown Battery, who has been behind me the entire season, stepped forward in a bigger way and I couldn’t be more excited. We are going to do our part in representing all of our partners at the highest level.”

The ASCS National Tour doubleheader in Ft. Worth will conclude their 2019 season. Michael will enter the high profile event as a one-time winner in 2019, that occurring during the $5,000 Rick Ferkel Classic at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park in early August.

Justin Whittall ends career year with Port Royal’s Nittany Showdown

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (October 28, 2019) – Justin Whittall’s 2019 season is officially in the books, and what a season it was.

Although ending the year with a C-Main appearance during Port Royal Speedway’s Nittany Showdown featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, Whittall, driver of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearings/No. 67 sprint car, put together a career year in 2019, highlighting all performances with multiple top-ten finishes during action at Port Royal Speedway, BAPS Motor Speedway and the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway, all of which are headquartered in very competitive ‘Posse Country.’

Port Royal Speedway was especially kind to the New Jersey-native. A runner-up performance on June 15 led the way, flanked by three other top-ten appearances on May 11, July 20 and August 24.

“We would have liked to finish a little better on Friday against the World of Outlaws, but that was a tough field, probably the toughest you could find anywhere,” Justin Whittall said, a high school graduate earlier this year. “It was a fun year. We earned a lot of great results and that makes us motivated for next year. I can’t thank my partners enough for their hard work this season. They are the real reason we are able to do this.”

Whittall’s top-ten performances at BAPS Motor Speedway and Lincoln Speedway were each tenth place outcomes.

Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports will begin preparations for next season immediately. A 2020 plan of attack will be released in the coming months.
