Westfall close with BOSS at Waynesfield; Limaland ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FOREST, Ohio (June 1, 2021) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports nearly parked it on Sunday night at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio, but a slight hiccup on the white flag lap forced the familiar “Bumblebee Express” entry to settle for third at the line.

Joining the Ohio-based Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) for their lone event of Memorial Day weekend, Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, was in a position to pounce the entire main event, using the initial start to jump ahead from fourth to second before nearly taking command at the completion of lap one.

Forced to navigate an increasingly narrow and abrasive surface, a late restart with two to go gave Westfall one final opportunity for victory. Unfortunately, during his attempt to drive around race leader, Paul Dues, at the entrance of turn three, slight contact was made causing the former BOSS Series champ to slip up the track. In response, Korbyn Hayslett capitalized and squeezed by Westfall for second.

The BOSS Series, who welcomed 27 entries at Waynesfield, was scheduled to be in action at Fremont Speedway one night prior, but Mother Nature had other plans.

“I think we were strong enough to win that race,” Westfall said, the 2019 BOSS Series champion. “Racing on a surface like that can be tricky. It’s tough to maneuver. If you slip up and leave the groove, it could cost you several spots. Regardless, I’m proud of this team. Ray (Marshall) gives us the opportunity and the equipment necessary to be competitive and I’m thankful to be a part of it. We’re going to do our best to park this No. 33M in victory lane this weekend.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with the 19th Annual Keysor Memorial at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, June 4. A plan for Saturday, June 5, has yet to be determined.

Justin Whittall shows determination in Bob Weikert Memorial

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (June 1, 2021) – Despite getting caught up in an incident during heat race competition which forced the Vincentown, New Jersey-native to retire, JW Motorsports’ Justin Whittall persevered in the utmost impressive fashion, charging ahead from the back of the B-Main to a transfer position in 12 laps, ultimately earning a spot in Port Royal Speedway’s $29,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions.

Whittall, driver of the JW Motorsports, JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Brotherton Brewing Company, Beechwood Landscape Architecture and Construction LLC, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, FK Rod Ends, Stilo Helmets, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Enterprise, Ground Blind Boys, No. 67 sprint car, ripped Port Royal’s thin, outer edge to transfer through the All Star Circuit of Champions consolation, utilizing the final few circuits to slingshot by Steve Buckwalter and Curt Stroup.

Unfortunately, Whittall’s feature potential was cut short of the finish, forced to retire early yet again after incidental contact while battling for position; he was scored 24th.

“We had some bad luck, but we had lots of speed. Hopefully we have the opportunity to put it all together the next time the All Stars come to Port Royal,” Justin Whittall said, who owns a podium run at the “Speed Palace” in 2021. “I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work this weekend. They busted their butts and never gave up. We’ll regroup this week and try again this weekend at Williams Grove and Port Royal.”

Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with another round of action in the Keystone State, set to return to Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 4-5.

“Double-D” hard charges for top-five in Port Royal’s Bob Weikert Memorial

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (June 1, 2021) – Flying Bob Weikert’s historic No. 29, as well as the traditional Weikert Livestock colors, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich put on a show last evening at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” and charged ahead from 17th to finish fourth with the All Star Circuit of Champions, earning his way into the $29,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial finale on the back of a heat race victory. Clinching the All Star Circuit of Champions’ Hard Charger Award for his efforts, Dietrich’s climb to fourth bumped his season top-ten total to 22, 13 of which inside the top-five.

Dietrich, driver of the Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 29 sprint car, was supposed to be in action with the All Star Circuit of Champions on three separate occasions during Memorial Day weekend, but wet and cold weather forced a cancellation at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, as well as at Port Royal on Saturday. Sunday’s Bob Weikert Memorial finale was ultimately pushed to Monday.

“We were hoping to put together an entire weekend, but it didn’t work out like that. Regardless, hats off to Port Royal and the Weikert Family for taking a chance on Monday and paying the full purse,” Danny Dietrich said. “I think we were good enough to contend for a win, but we just ran out of time. I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work. We’re due for a win. I’m confident it will happen soon.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with another three-pack in Central Pennsylvania on Thursday through Saturday, June 3-5. The team will kick-off the extended weekend with a stop at BAPS Motor Speedway, followed by routine visits to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Lincoln Speedway on Saturday.

Rico Abreu secures top-tens at Knoxville and Port Royal in same weekend

Date: Saturday, May 29th
Event: Knoxville Championship Series
Series: Knoxville Championship Series 410 Sprint Cars
Track: Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 5th (9th)

Date: Monday, May 31st
Event: Bob Weikert Memorial
Series: All Star Circuit of Champions
Track: Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 7th (9th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (June 1, 2021) – Despite a sporadic schedule with a lot of miles in between, Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing persevered and put together a sound Memorial Day weekend campaign, first registering a top-five result at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, May 29, then making the near-15 hour tow to Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, where the St. Helena, California-native finished seventh in the $29,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial on Monday, May 31.

A much needed test and tune session for upcoming appearances with the Greatest Show On Dirt, including the coveted Knoxville Nationals, Abreu’s trip to Knoxville Raceway ended fifth in the running order, eventually climbing ahead four spots from ninth on the grid.

Port Royal Speedway’s Bob Weikert Memorial, featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions, utilized a passing points system and redraw to set the evening’s feature lineup rather than the All Stars’ traditional dash format. A third place finish during heat race action propelled Abreu’s point total to the top-ten overall, which automatically qualified Abreu for the feature redraw; Abreu went on to start ninth.

“We put on some miles this weekend, but that’s what it’s all about. We love every minute of it,” Rico Abreu said, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Curb Records/Rowdy Energy/Lucas Oil Products/The Wiser Agency/Self Made/Salty’s BBQ/No. 24 sprint car. “We intended on racing all weekend with the All Stars, but with the weather playing a factor, we decided to hang back and turn some laps at Knoxville instead. I was happy to make it to Port Royal in time for the Weikert. The fans in Pennsylvania are second to none and we love being there. I can’t wait to get back.”

Tentatively, Rico Abreu will continue his 2021 campaign with a full slate of All Star Circuit of Champions competition, kicking-off the extended, upcoming weekend with a visit to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, on Thursday, June 3. Action will continue with a Wisconsin tripleheader at Wilmot Raceway, Plymouth Dirt Track, and Angell Park Speedway on Friday through Sunday, June 4-6.

2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Fourth | 3640 points [152 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 1, 2021) – Despite Mother Nature throwing a wrench in plans to visit Terre Haute Action Track on Friday, May 28, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing utilized the extra off days to actively prepare for their upcoming visit to Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on Monday, May 31.

Although the Memorial Day visit to the Lawrenceburg highbanks did not result in a Schatz victory, the driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Carquest Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Sage Fruit/Digital Ally/Advance Auto Parts/Rush Truck Centers/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car did manage to secure his 19th top-ten result of the year with the Greatest Show On Dirt, ultimately finishing eighth on a “giddy up” race track after starting in the exact same position. The ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion kicked-off his evening in southern Indiana with the fifth-fastest time overall, followed by a third-place run during his respective heat race.

Kerry Madsen, continuing his substitution for Tony Stewart aboard the Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Digital Ally/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Mobil 1/Carquest Auto Parts/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car, joined Schatz at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Monday evening and finished fifth; the result of an impressive climb from the outside of row seven.

Like Schatz, Madsen qualified within the top-ten, ninth overall, and eventually secured his place on the feature lineup with a sixth-place run during heat race competition.

Still on the hunt for World of Outlaws win number 300, as well as an 11th Series championship, Donny Schatz will continue his 2021 World of Outlaws campaign with a trek to much familiar territory. The Fargo, North Dakota-native will kick-off the upcoming weekend with a visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Friday, June 4, followed by a stop at Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 5.

Schatz will enter the weekend fourth in the WoO title chase, trailing two-time champ and current leader, Brad Sweet, by 152 markers.

Whittall to join All Stars in Central PA tripleheader at The Grove and Port Royal

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (May 28, 2021) – The month of May has been an action-packed for Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall, but the action is far from over, as Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions are set to invade the Keystone State during the coming weekend, ready to partake in three consecutive blockbusters beginning with the $10,000-to-win Davey Brown Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 28. Although a native of New Jersey, Whittall is a frequent flyer in Pennsylvania Posse Country and will join the Posse and All Stars during the upcoming tripleheader.

Whittall, driver of the JW Motorsports, JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Brotherton Brewing Company, Beechwood Landscape Architecture and Construction LLC, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, FK Rod Ends, Stilo Helmets, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Enterprise, Ground Blind Boys, No. 67 sprint car, will continue his All Star weekend with Port Royal Speedway’s annual Bob Weikert Memorial on Saturday and Sunday, May 29-30. The high-dollar double will award $10,000 and $29,000, respectively.

Even though Whittall is still chasing that elusive breakthrough win, the Garden State wheelman has plenty of momentum on his side, recently maneuvering his JW Motorsports No. 67 entry to a podium run at the Port Royal “Speed Palace.”

“We’re excited about the coming weekend. Hopefully Mother Nature gives us the opportunity to race. It should be a lot of fun,” Whittall said, who has finished as high as second at Port Royal Speedway during weekly competition. “I can’t thank my team, my family, and all of my partners enough for their support in 2021. The last year or so has been challenging for a lot of people, but to come out of that and still be in a position to compete every weekend is pretty special. We know we have the speed and the equipment to be up front with anyone. We just have to put it all together.”

Whittall’s most recent results in Pennsylvania Posse Country include 15th and 13th-place performances at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway, respectively.

Dietrich continues May campaign with top-tens in NJ, PA, and WV; Davey Brown Tribute and Weikert Memorial next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 25, 2021) – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing logged some serious miles during their recent stretch of competition, and despite long hours, stout competitors, and multiple track configurations, “Double-D” put together an undoubted string of success, highlighted with a runner-up finish during a Yellow Breeches program at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 21.

Before making his trip to The Grove, Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car, kicked off his long week with a stop at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, New Jersey, on Tuesday, May 18, joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for their only Garden State visit of the season. “Double-D” finished eighth with the Greatest Show On Dirt, ultimately bumping ahead two spots after starting tenth.

In addition, “Double-D” earned a sixth-place performance during West Virginia Motor Speedway’s Mountaineer Nationals on Saturday, May 22, followed by a 14th-place rally against the All Star Circuit of Champions at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, on Sunday, May 23.

“It wasn’t a bad weekend for the most part. I think we were better than our results at a few of the races, but we’ll do what we can to find speed for next weekend. That’s the priority,” Danny Dietrich said, who owns one victory on the season. “As much as we love hitting the road and racing at some of the bigger shows in the region, it’s tough to beat racing close to home. There’s a lot of money on the line this weekend right in our own backyard, so the plan is to take full advantage of that opportunity.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with an All Star Circuit of Champions tripleheader in Pennsylvania Posse Country, set to invade Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway for a $49,000 potential on Friday through Sunday, May 28-30.

The weekend will kick-off with the $10,000-to-win Davey Brown Tribute at Williams Grove on Friday, followed by the two-day Weikert Memorial at the Port Royal “Speed Palace” on Saturday and Sunday. The Weikert Memorial opener will award a $10,000 payday with the weekend finale shelling out a $29,000 winner’s share.
