Brock Zearfoss to drive for Clayton Snow in Arizona Speedway’s Copper Classic

JONESTOWN, Pa. (November 23, 2021) – Fresh off of his rookie campaign with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, Jonestown, Pennsylvania’s Brock Zearfoss will head back to work immediately, setting his destination for Queen Creek, Arizona, where the “Jonestown Jet” will drive Clayton Snow’s familiar No. 7 in Arizona Speedway’s 6th Annual Copper Classic on November 26-27.

Awarding a total winner’s share equaling $10,000, the two-day ASCS Southwest Region sprint car blockbuster will blast off with an open practice session on Wednesday, followed by back-to-back programs on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s preliminary event will award a $2,500 top prize with Saturday’s finale awarding $7,500.

“This is exciting…I can’t thank Clayton Snow enough for this opportunity,” Brock Zearfoss said, who finished ninth in the 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series driver standings, highlighting his freshman season with a runner-up finish in the World Finals finale on November 6. “We were scheduled to have a WoO event at Arizona Speedway, but it was ultimately canceled. So, I’m excited to finally have the chance to get back there. The Copper Classic is such a storied event. Bob Ream was kind enough to give me a shot last year. It just didn’t end as planned. But I’m confident Clayton and I will have speed right out of the gate. I’m ready to see what we can do.”

A bittersweet weekend for open wheel fans, the Copper Classic doubleheader will not only close down the ASCS Southwest Region calendar, boasting what will be a stout contingent of 360c.i. sprint car competitors, but it will also end Arizona Speedway’s tenure, as the track will close permanently following the program.

“We want to add our names to the history book,” Zearfoss continued. “We have the potential, that’s for certain.”

Zearfoss will enter Copper Classic competition with a full season of World of Outlaws experience in his notebook, concluding the tour with 23 top-ten finishes, one of which the aforementioned top-five at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

For those seeking additional information pertaining to the 6th Annual Copper Classic, please visit Arizona Speedway on the web at www.arizonaspeedway.net. Action is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. local time each evening.

Danny Dietrich caps 2021 campaign with runner-up result in BAPS’ Sprint Showdown

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 14, 2021) – The 2021 season is officially in the books for “Double-D” Danny Dietrich, and although the Gettysburg native was unable to conclude his campaign on top of the field, he was close, wrapping up the year with a podium finish in BAPS Motor Speedway’s season-ending Sprint Showdown on Saturday, November 13.

Working to etch a seventh mark in the win column, Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, Graver’s Garage, Racer’s New & Used Parts Warehouse, No. 48 sprint car, ultimately fell one short and finished second in the $5,000-to-win program, leading a single circuit on lap 17 before surrendering the top spot to eventual winner, Brent Marks.

Although Dietrich was not victorious, his ability to maneuver BAPS Motor Speedway was apparent right from the beginning, kicking things off with the fastest qualifying time over the 38-car field. In fact, Dietrich’s time was the fastest recorded at BAPS all season. The feat earned him a $1,000 bonus.

“We wanted that one pretty bad. We were close, just not close enough,” Dietrich said, a six-time feature winner in 2021 including a pair at BAPS Motor Speedway. “It’s been a wild year. A bitter-sweet feeling right now, for sure. It’s tough to think it’s over already…but I think we are all ready for some family time. Hats off to this entire team…the crew, our partners, all of the fans…I couldn’t do it without you. We are blessed to be able to race in an area so rich in support and love for our sport. We owe it all to the fans, especially.”

Maybe not matching his 2020 win total of 13, Dietrich’s 2021 campaign was just as head turning, capping the year with 59 top-ten appearances, 38 within the top-five, and six victories. Of Dietrich’s triumphs, two occurred during All Star Circuit of Champions competition, one of which accomplished at Sharon Speedway during Ohio Sprint Speedweek.

In addition, Dietrich made victory lane appearances at Lincoln Speedway on March 13, Selinsgrove Speedway on July 20, BAPS Motor Speedway on August 29 (All Stars), Port Royal Speedway on September 6 (Labor Day Classic), and BAPS Motor Speedway again on September 16.

“Of course, the goal is to win more races, but I think we had a pretty successful season,” Dietrich continued. “It’s going to be a short winter, so we’ll get to work right away.”

Information pertaining to Danny Dietrich’s 2022 campaign will be posted in the coming weeks. Fans are encouraged to keep alert online, as well as on social media, for any news and updates regarding the coming season.

Danny Dietrich to cap 2021 season with Sprint Showdown at BAPS Motor Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 8, 2021) – It has been a long and competitive road for Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich, and although his 2021 campaign is all but complete, recently concluding all World of Outlaws competition with the annual World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, “Double-D” still has some unfinished business, as BAPS Motor Speedway is set to host their annual Sprint Showdown on Saturday afternoon, November 13.

Certainly no stranger to the York Haven oval, Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, Graver’s Garage, Racer’s New & Used Parts Warehouse, No. 48 sprint car, is a two-time BAPS winner this season, one of which accomplished during All Star Circuit of Champions competition on August 29.

The BAPS Motor Speedway Sprint Showdown will award a $5,000 top prize.

“It’s been a long year, for sure, but we want to cap it all with a win a BAPS…that’s our goal,” Danny Dietrich explained, a six-time feature winner thus far in 2021, two of which with the All Star Circuit of Champions including the aforementioned BAPS triumph. “Hats off to my team. They’ve been busting their butts all season and I can’t thank them enough for their hard work. We’ve been all over the map this year and that’s not easy. Without their help, the wins wouldn’t be possible.”

As mentioned, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing joined the World of Outlaws for their season-ending World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Thursday through Saturday, November 4-6. A frustrating weekend for the team, Dietrich highlighted his visit to the Tar Heel State with a 14th-place finish in Saturday’s Last Chance Showdown.

“We’ll put that weekend behind us and move forward,” Dietrich explained. “You have to take the bad with the good…can’t let those results get to you or you’ll never make any progress.”

Brock Zearfoss completes World of Outlaws season with podium at The Dirt Track at Charlotte

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (November 8, 2021) – The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss certainly saved his best performance for last, as the 2021 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender capped his first-ever season as a Series full-timer with a podium performance in the season-ending World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The former Port Royal Speedway track champion finished second in his final Outlaws start, advancing three spots from fifth on the A-Main grid.

The runner-up result did not come without challenges, as Zearfoss was forced to cross under multiple sliders given by David Gravel, as well as fend off ten-time World of Outlaws champion, Donny Schatz.

Before earning his podium result, Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Meckley’s Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car, opened World Finals competition with a 13th-place score on Friday, advancing 12 positions after utilizing a World of Outlaws provisional to start 25th.

Despite being a former winner with the Greatest Show On Dirt, the World Finals podium outcome was Zearfoss’ top result as a Series full-timer.

“Better late than never,” Zearfoss said with a grin, who finished ninth in the World of Outlaws driver standings padded by 23 top-ten finishes. “We had the opportunity to win several races, but so many things kept us behind that little bit. The people behind me have brought me up when I’m down. I keep saying it, but we really have been getting better since Knoxville. We were battling for the win and I got too antsy I think. Just having the opportunity to win is special for us.”

With his 2021 campaign complete, Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will begin the tedious task of preparing for 2022, as the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-based open wheelers plan to take on the World of Outlaws once again next season, working to translate his rookie woes into sophomore success. In addition, Zearfoss hopes to make his return to Australia during the North American off-season, aiming to repeat as the Western Australia Speedweek champion.

Although not official, Zearfoss may make an appearance at BAPS Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 13; the annual Sprint Showdown will award a $5,000 top prize.

Rico Abreu runner-up in Stockton’s Tribute to Gary Patterson

Date: Saturday, November 6th
Event: Tribute to Gary Patterson
Series: NARC-King of the West Sprint Cars
Track: Stockton Dirt Track (Stockton, California)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 2nd (8th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (November 8, 2021) – Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing did their best to cap the 2021 season with a victory, but just as it ended in 2020, Abreu was forced to settle for one spot short of the ultimate prize, finishing second in the NARC-King of the West Tribute to Gary Patterson at Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday, November 6.

A man on a mission, Abreu, driver of the Rowdy Energy/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/Self Made Racing/Stadelhofer Construction/Salty’s BBQ/XYZ Machining/Wiser Agency/No. 24 sprint car, was on a roll early in Stockton’s Patterson Tribute, powering ahead from eighth to second before the midpoint of the 30-lapper. A caution with 19 remaining is what allowed Abreu to claim the second spot, utilizing the restart to power by Hanford, California’s DJ Netto.

From that point forward, Abreu did his best to track down race leader Corey Day, but even as traffic intensified in the closing laps, Day proved to be too good.

“Restarts is really where I kind of excelled on picking guys off,” Abreu said. “My car was a little bit free, and the cushion had some whoops and ruts that really upset my car. The race went on and I started searching and didn’t want to be the guy last in line when it laid rubber.

“Hats off to my team…they are the real reason we are up here on the podium,” Abreu continued. “I’m proud of everyone involved with this Rowdy Energy car. We’ll come back stronger than ever next year…I’m already excited to get started.”

Updates pertaining to Rico Abreu’s 2022 plans will be posted in the coming weeks. For the time being, fans should keep alert online, as well as on social media, for details pertaining to Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu Racing merchandise.

Donny Schatz rallies 22 positions in World of Outlaws finale

Dates: Thursday through Saturday, November 4th-6th
Event: World of Outlaws World Finals
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 5th (11th)
Saturday: 3rd (25th)

2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: FINAL | Fourth | 10,458 points (two points behind Carson Macedo for third)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (November 8, 2021) – If one thing is for certain, you can never count out Donny Schatz, no matter the circumstance.

The ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion certainly lived up to that expression during the recent weekend, capping the 2021 World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte with two, big charges including a 22-spot rally on Saturday, November 6.

Forced to utilize a Series provisional, Schatz started 25th on Saturday’s A-Main grid and put on a clinic, climbing through most of the field before finishing third behind Brock Zearfoss and eventual winner, Brent Marks. It was the bottom groove that served as Schatz’ battleground, nearly making the pass for second before settling for the final spot on the podium. In addition, Schatz was awarded the evening’s Hard Charger Award.

“That’s what is expected of me,” Schatz said, driver of the Carquest Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Sage Fruit/Digital Ally/Advance Auto Parts/Rush Truck Centers/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/TicketSmarter/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car . “We found ourselves in every bad position and we just didn’t change enough stuff. We finally did and we changed everything except the seat, steering wheel, and driver. I’m glad we got a respectable finish to end the year.”

One night prior, Schatz performed a near-similar feat, ending the first World Finals main event with a stout run from 11th to finish fifth. Like Saturday, Schatz’ preferred groove was the bottom, forced to battle with Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing teammate, Kerry Madsen, along the way.

When the weekend dust settled, Schatz found himself fourth in the final World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series driver standings, a mere-two points shy of third. Three victories padded Schatz’ battle in the standings, earning wins at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway, Red River Valley Speedway, and I-80 Speedway. Impressive enough, Schatz concluded the year with 62 top-ten finishes in 77 World of Outlaws feature starts, 47 of which within the top five.

Madsen steers TSR to podium, top-ten in World of Outlaws World Finals

Dates: Thursday through Saturday, November 4th-6th
Event: World of Outlaws World Finals
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Kerry Madsen A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 2nd (5th)
Saturday: 6th (13th)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (November 8, 2021) – The “Madman” Kerry Madsen certainly lived up to his persona during the recent weekend, capping the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte with a pair of top-ten finishes, highlighting the three-day turned two-day affair with a podium performance on Friday, November 5.

Exciting, to say the least, Madsen’s podium was not a guaranteed outcome until the closing circuits, as the St Marys, New South Wales, Australia-native battled by Brent Marks for fourth with eight laps remaining, claiming third from Carson Macedo with two laps remaining, then sliding by “Blackjack” Brian Brown for second in the final corner.

“I can’t say enough about this Tony Stewart Racing car,” Kerry Madsen said. “It’s been an absolute dream to drive this year and I couldn’t be happier. I think we were in a position to win a few more races, but we’ll move forward and see what the future brings.”

Although unable to match his podium outcome, Madsen’s final night in the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Digital Ally/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Mobil 1/Carquest Auto Parts/TicketSmarter/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car did result in a top-ten finish, this time climbing from 13th to finish sixth. A fourth-place score during heat race competition secured Madsen’s position on the feature grid.

A “super sub” in his own right, Madsen powered Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing to a trio of $10,000 World of Outlaws victories in 2021, two of which occurring during Jackson Nationals preliminary competition at Jackson Motorplex on June 24-25. Madsen’s third World of Outlaws victory occurred during Port Royal Speedway’s Nittany Showdown on Friday, October 8.

Zearfoss scores top-ten at Lawton; World of Outlaws World Finals to close season

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (November 1, 2021) – Brock Zearfoss’ rookie campaign with the Greatest Show On Dirt may be nearing its completion, but the ambition to perform does not lack, as the “Jonestown Jet” secured his 22nd top-ten finish of the 2021 season Friday evening at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma, utilizing a front row starting position to solidify his outcome.

Finishing seventh, officially, Zearfoss was in near-perfect form the entire evening in southern Oklahoma, kicking things off with the second-fastest time during qualifying time trials, followed by a second-place finish during his respective heat race. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native went on to finish second in the evening’s dash ultimately setting up his front row starting position for the 35-lap A-Main.

Although unable to clinch back-to-back top-ten performances, Zearfoss was close, ending his Saturday night visit to Devil’s Bowl Speedway with an 11th-place score. With all results considered, Zearfoss’ performances through Oklahoma and Texas should be enough to solidify ninth in the final World of Outlaws driver standings.

“We didn’t want to slip that far back, but racing with the Outlaws is tough…as tough as it gets. One mistake can cost you multiple positions,” Zearfoss said, driver of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Meckley’s Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car. “It’s tough to think that the year is almost over. Regardless, we still have work to do. To end the year with a victory in Charlotte would be pretty incredible. That’s our goal and we’re going to do everything we can to get it done.”

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will conclude the 2021 season with the highly sought after World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. Set for Thursday through Saturday, November 4-6, the Greatest Show On Dirt’s season finale will feature two, full programs, all of which kicking off with two rounds of qualifying time trials on Thursday. The weekend will continue with back-to-back programs featuring preliminary and feature action on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Each of the Friday and Saturday main events will award $12,000-to-win.
