Danny Dietrich unveils new look, schedule and apparel for 2021; GKR welcomes new and returning partners

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (January 5, 2021) – It will be business as usual for Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing in 2021, as the defending Central PA Sprint Car Point Series champions are set to launch a massive schedule that extends well into the triple digits, all of which kicking-off on Friday and Saturday, January 29-30, with an All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. The two-day visit to the Peach State will award an $18,000 potential; $8,000 on Friday and $10,000 on Saturday.

The team’s early season campaign will continue with a five-pack during Volusia’s DIRTcar Nationals on February 3-7; two nights against the All Stars and three nights against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

In routine fashion, Dietrich, a 13-time winner in 2020 aboard Gary Kauffman’s familiar No. 48 sprint car, will mold the majority of his 2021 agenda around action in Pennsylvania Posse Country, also planning to join the All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on at least 40 occasions, many of which within the heart of the Keystone State.

A segment of Ohio Sprint Speedweek featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions is also highlighted on Dietrich’s upcoming schedule, as well as a trip to Kokomo Speedway, a pair of visits to the recently reopened West Virginia Motor Speedway, Southern Iowa Speedway’s Front Row Challenge, Knoxville Raceway’s Capitani Classic and Knoxville Nationals, and the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

“Ideally, this is the schedule we would like to follow in 2021. Things could change pending our results and performances, but this is our plan for now,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, Graver’s Garage, Racer’s New & Used Parts Warehouse, East Park Automotive, RV 4 Wheel Drive, Bollinger Construction, Blud Lubricants, No. 48 sprint car. “I can’t thank Gary Kauffman enough for the opportunity to do this again. He believes in me and he believes in our team, and that’s all the confidence I need. Hopefully we can head south and get this season started off on the right foot. A solid trip south would be a great way to get the bulk of our year rolling.”

Adding to a long list of dedicated partners, RV 4 Wheel Drive & Performance Automotive of Mechanicsburg, and East Park Automotive of Emmitsburg, Maryland, are the newest to join Gary Kauffman Racing’s efforts, each playing a major role in heightening the team’s performance and potential.

JJ Loss gains confidence in trip to Tulsa; Arizona trek ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

LODI, California (January 4, 2021) – It was a hard-fought week in the Sooner State for Lodi, California’s JJ Loss, and despite a few mechanical hiccups and a stout field, “The Boss” persevered and left the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a powerful notebook and a high dose of confidence, already looking ahead to his visit to the Grand Canyon State on January 16.

Joining over 1000 entries spanning across seven levels of micro sprint competition, Loss participated in the one and only Tulsa Shootout during the recent week, entering three of the seven divisions hosted, Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, and Stock Non-Wing, all while battling head-to-head with the some of the best in the business. Loss capped his first-ever Shootout campaign with a pair of C-Main starts, as well as a D-Main start where he was victorious. The D-Main win, accomplished during the second of eight Stock Non-Wing D-Main events contested during the four-day spectacle, resulted in Loss’ first victory of the 2021 season, utilizing the pole position to race his way into a Stock C-Main.

Despite all efforts, Loss’ week ended with three C-Main starts; a great performance considering the level of competition represented at the largest micro sprint race in the world.

“I can’t thank everyone enough who made our trip to the Tulsa Shootout possible, including Ryan Wilson and Shaw Motorsports. I couldn’t have done it without them. It was a great experience and I’m excited to go back,” Loss said, driver of the California Graphics Co., KPR, Competition Suspension Incorporated (CSI), Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Freedom Offroad, Bev & Norm Warner, ISC Racers Tape, Kaeding Performance, No. 67 micro. “We learned a lot and that’s most important.”

If all goes according to plan, JJ Loss will continue his 2021 season with a trip to Adobe Mountain Speedway near Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, January 16, set to participate in the first round of the NOW600 Cactus Region schedule. The Adobe Mountain visit will be the first of four for Loss during January and February.

Brock Zearfoss scores first-ever victory in Australia; First American to win at Ellenbrook

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PERTH, Australia (January 3, 2021) – The fourth try was definitely the charm for the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss, finally breaking through for a first-ever Australian victory after three straight podium performances. Zearfoss, pilot of the Sean Carren-owned No. 95W during his tenure Down Under, scored his triumph during night four of Western Australia Speedweek at Ellenbrook Speedway in Bullsbrook, Australia, on Saturday, January 2, eventually leading all 30 circuits to become the first American to win at the facility; Zearfoss was the first American to ever compete at Ellenbrook.

“What an amazing feeling to be the first American to race at Ellenbrook Speedway, and to be the first American to win at Ellenbrook,” Zearfoss explained. “I am so grateful for the Carren Family. For everyone to pull together and help make this dream a reality is just unbelievable. I want to thank the Kendrick team and Lynton Jeffrey, as well. They helped put this trip together and I wouldn’t be here without their help.

“Brenton and the boys are doing an awesome job with these race cars,” Zearfoss added. “It has been a dream to drive. I’m confident our final two starts together will be just as successful as the first four.”

The Ellenbrook win, accomplished from the pole position after winning the evening’s first dash, offered a taste of sweet redemption for the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native, as Zearfoss finished second one night prior at Bunbury Speedway after leading all but the final four circuits.

“Losing at Bunbury kinda stung, more than usual,” Zearfoss continued. “To be that close and not get it is enough to make anyone disappointed. I know how much that place means to the team, so I made it a point to get a win for them that night. We were close, but just not close enough. To come back the next day and get a win at Ellenbrook kinda made it all the better.”

With four rounds of Western Australia Speedweek complete, Zearfoss and Sean Carren own four consecutive podium finishes and currently sit on top of the Speedweek standings, finishing no worse than second since round two at Perth Motorplex on December 28. As a bonus, successful heat race and dash attempts have allowed Zearfoss to position himself on the front row for each and every Speedweek start.

Set for Wednesday, January 6, and Saturday, January 9, the final two rounds of Western Australia Speedweek will take shape at Perth Motorplex.

Brock Zearfoss showing success in first two rounds of Western Australia Speedweek

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PERTH, Australia (December 28, 2020) – The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss is having zero trouble becoming acclimated with competing Down Under for car owner Sean Carren and has already turned a pair of Western Australia Speedweek starts into back-to-back top-five finishes, kicking things off with a third-place run at Perth Motorplex in Perth, Australia, on Saturday, December 26. The former All Star, who recently committed to a full season with the Greatest Show On Dirt, started from the pole position during his first Australian feature, the result of a victory during the first of two dashes.

Perth Motorplex, certainly a staple on Australia’s west coast, hosted the first two nights of Western Australia Speedweek with the second round conducted on Monday evening, December 28. Keeping his new found rhythm intact, the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native started from the pole position yet again and battled on for another podium run, this time improving one position from two nights prior to finish second to James McFadden. Zearfoss led early before surrendering the top spot McFadden, eventually battling back for a late race surge against the former Australia Sprint Car Champion. Zearfoss peaked his nose ahead of the Monte Motorsports No. 17 late, but McFadden powered ahead, securing the bottom groove to keep Zearfoss at bay.

“It’s been a blast down here. Perth is a tough place to figure out. The track changed a lot over the last two races, but that’s ok. We’ll be ready for when we come back after the New Year,” Brock Zearfoss said, driver of the AAA Metal Recycling, Goldstar Transport, No. 95W sprint car. “I can’t thank Sean Carren enough for this opportunity. It has been an absolute dream come true to come to Australia to race. I’m confident we have what it takes to get a win while I’m here.”

Brock Zearfoss and Sean Carren will continue their Western Australia Speedweek campaign with a pair of starts on January 1-2, this time visiting Bunbury Speedway on New Year’s Day, followed by a stop at Ellenbrook Speedway on January 2. The 2020/2021 edition of Western Australia Speedweek will conclude with another doubleheader at Perth Motorplex on January 6 and January 9.

Cullen Hutchison rolls through 2020 karting season with head-turning results

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

BUTLER, Pa. (December 14, 2020) – Cullen Hutchison may be classified as a rookie, but his results are far from beginner. The Butler, Pennsylvania-native practically took the regional karting world by storm during his second, full season and amassed a head-turning 28 feature victories in 54 starts, doing so while competing in more than one class and sometimes attaining multiple victories in the same evening. Impressive enough, of Hutchison’s 54 starts, 52 resulted in top-five appearances, finishing off of the podium on a mere-nine occasions.

With a 54-race season comes travel, and travel is what Hutchison did. While maintaining regular appearances a the nearby Slippery Rock Raceway, a 25-minute skip from his Butler home, Hutchison, led by his father and former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series crew chief, Todd Hutchison, made the tow to seven other regional facilities during his 2020 campaign, visiting New York and Ohio along the way. Tracks on Hutchison’s 2020 hit list included the aforementioned Slippery Rock Raceway, as well as Naugle Speedway in Naugle, Pennsylvania; Shaffer’s Speedway in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; Flat Run Speedway in Morrisdale, Pennsylvania; Race-1 Motor Speedway in Dubois, Pennsylvania; Goodhope Speedway in New Springfield, Ohio; Sandusky Speedway in Sandusky, Ohio; and Stateline Speedway in Busti, New York.

Despite the frequent change in scenery, Hutchison maintained consistency and found success at every venue he visited. Naugle Speedway, a 1/8-mile bullring located just northwest of downtown Pittsburgh, is where Hutchison shined the brightest. In 13 feature starts, Hutchison found victory lane on ten occasions, seven during predator action and three during clone competition. In fact, Hutchison finished no worse than second during all of his Naugle attempts, capping the season with a predator win on September 25.

Not only was Hutchison victorious during his rounds through the tri-state, the eight-year-old earned multiple championships, highlighted with a pair at Naugle Speedway. Titles in Naugle’s Predator Kids and Rooke Clone classes were flanked by a pair of Rookie Predator championships at Shaffer’s Speedway and Slippery Rock Raceway, respectively.

Winning streaks were also frequent during Hutchison’s recent campaign. The youngster earned five victories in succession on two separate occasions, the first stretch taking shape between June 17 and July 1, and the second between July 29 and August 7.

If all goes according to plan, Cullen Hutchison will hit the ground running – fast – in 2021 with hopes of entering a minimum of 100 events across all divisions. The season will begin almost immediately following the new year, as the Western Pennsylvania karter plans to venture south of the Mason-Dixon for an early season slugout at Low Country Kartway in Aynor, South Carolina, on February 27.

Brock Zearfoss will drive for Sean Carren during first-ever Australia visit

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (December 7, 2020) – For the first time in his career, Brock Zearfoss, who recently announced his plans to compete full-time with the Greatest Show On Dirt in 2021, is heading Down Under, set to drive for Sean Carren during a stint in Western Australia over the holiday season.

Five Western Australia Speedweek events are slated to take up Zearfoss’ schedule during his visit to the southern hemisphere including stops at Perth Motorplex on December 26 and 28, Bunbury Speedway on January 1, Ellenbrook Speedway on January 2, and again at Perth Motorplex on January 9. The final night at Perth will award a $10,000 top prize.

“This is an incredible opportunity and I can’t thank Sean Carren, Geoff Kendrick and Lynton Jeffrey enough for helping put all of this together. It all kinda happened so fast, but I couldn’t be more excited,” Brock Zearfoss said. “Sean has been a part of racing for a long time and Geoff was good enough to step up and allow us to use one of his motors for this deal. I don’t think it has actually set in yet that I’m heading to Australia, but I’m ready to go. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Despite what is shaping up to be a limited off-season, Brock Zearfoss will use his trek to Western Australia as an opportunity to keep the dust off, as his 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign is set to launch on February 5 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.

“I not only get to experience some new things, but this gives me a chance to compete during a time that has traditionally been my off-season,” Zearfoss continued. “I hope to use this opportunity as a total advantage and head into the Outlaw season sharp and ready to go. I’m ready to get rolling.”

News and updates pertaining to Brock Zearfoss’ trip to Australia will be posted as they become available. Fans are encouraged to keep alert online at www.fullyinjected.com, www.brockzearfoss.com, and on social media.

Michael pairs with Havens to tour with All Stars in 2021

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (December 2, 2020) – The “Texas Traveler” TJ Michael will rejoin the All Star Circuit of Champions in 2021, set to pick up right where he left off at the conclusion of the 2017 season and return as a full-time competitor. The Plano, Texas-native, who headquarters his race team in Fremont, Ohio, will hit the road with recently hired hand AJ Havens. Havens, an experienced wrench with victories on all levels including the World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions, will call the shots on the Michael Motorsports No. 8M during the new year.

Kicking things off with non-point competition in Georgia and Florida, the 2021 All Star Circuit of Champions agenda consists of 59 dates across 13 states. The Series will visit 32 tracks during their travels, all of which, with the exception of Screven Motor Speedway, East Bay Raceway Park and Volusia Speedway Park, are scattered across the heart of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have AJ Havens join our team in 2021. We’re confident he has the knowledge and the experience necessary to maximize our team’s potential. Building a team to run with the All Stars again wouldn’t be possible without AJ’s insight,” TJ Michael said, driver of the Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kear’s Speed Shop, Wings Unlimited, Big D’s Pizza, No. 8M sprint car. “We have a lot of work to do, but we’ll be ready to go. We’re going all in and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Improving significantly since his last outing with “America’s Series,” Michael’s most recent full-time campaign with the All Star Circuit of Champions was highlighted with a pair of top-ten finishes, eventually ending his season with 28 feature starts. Recent highlights with the traveling All Stars includes a top-ten performance at Attica Raceway Park on September 4, ending his evening with an impressive rally from 24th to finish tenth.

Michael owns one victory during 410 sprint car competition, which was scored during FAST Series action at Waynesfield Raceway Park on August 2, 2019. The victory, accomplished during the Rick Ferkel Classic, earned the “Texas Traveler” a $5,000 payday.

“Running with the caliber of teams that will be racing full-time with the All Stars next season is only going to make me better as a driver, as well as help us improve as a team,” Michael continued. “The more laps, the more you learn; that’s the bottom line. I can’t wait to get started.”

More news and notes pertaining to TJ Michael’s 2021 season will be published in the coming weeks. Those seeking additional information regarding the All Star Circuit of Champions should visit the Series online at www.allstarsprint.com

Rico Abreu scores top-five and podium during Copper Classic weekend at Arizona Speedway

Dates: Friday and Saturday, November 27th-28th
Event: Fifth Annual Copper Classic
Series: ASCS Southwest Region 360 Sprints
Track: Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 4th (4th)
Saturday: 3rd (2nd)

ST. HELENA, California (November 30, 2020) – The decision to venture south from the heart of the Golden State to take part in Arizona Speedway’s annual Copper Classic proved to be well-worth the miles logged, as St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu secured back-to-back top-five finishes during the ASCS Southwest Region doubleheader, highlighting each of his starts with a third-place performance during the $5,000-to-win finale on Saturday.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/The Wiser Agency/Self Made Racing/Salty’s BBQ/Whistle Stop Bar and Grill/Wiser Golf/J. Davidson Scrap Metal/No. 24 sprint car, led the majority of Saturday’s 30-lapper from the outside-front row, eventually surrendering the top spot to Elk Grove, California’s Kyle Larson with just eight laps remaining. A slight bobble on the cushion through turns three and four allowed Larson to sneak by. Carson Macedo, who helped create a California podium sweep, would also slip by Abreu just before the two-to-go signal was given.

With 55 cars entered for action, Abreu opened the Copper Classic finale with a victory during his respective heat race and qualifier.

Before snagging a podium run on Saturday, Abreu commenced Copper Classic weekend with a fourth-place finish during preliminary action on Friday; he started in the exact same position.

“It was a fun weekend. We were happy to get a few more races in before calling it a season,” Rico Abreu said, who will end 2020 with six victories on the year. “I can’t thank my team enough for stepping up and making the trip to Arizona. It was a long weekend, but we raced well and put together some solid runs. That’s a great momentum boost heading into the off-season.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will soon begin the scheduling process for 2021. Any news and notes pertaining to Rico Abreu’s upcoming agenda will be released in the near future.
