Brent Marks ends Gold Cup with top-ten; Placerville, Stockton, Calistoga all ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (September 9, 2019) – The ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks turned three World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series starts into a pair of top-ten outcomes during the recent week, accomplishing those feats during visits to Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon, on Wednesday, September 4, as well as at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California, on Saturday, September 7.

Marks crossed the line tenth in each of his top-ten finishes during action at Willamette and Silver Dollar, highlighting all results with his top-ten appearance during Silver Dollar Speedway’s prestigious Gold Cup finale on Saturday; there were 29 cars in attendance.

“It was a fun weekend, but we still have a lot left here in California. Our goal is to leave this state with a win,” Brent Marks said, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car. “It’s tough to think we are already into the month of September. We still have a lot on our plate; a lot of time for opportunity.”

Danny Dietrich highlights All Star triple with top-five during Port Royal’s Tuscarora 50

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (September 9, 2019) – Danny Dietrich put together an impressive weekend in Central Pennsylvania with the All Star Circuit of Champions, nearly attaining his 15th victory of the 2019 season, twice.

The trip west proved well worth the effort for the Gettysburg-native, rallying from 13th to finish fifth, as well as clinching the evening’s Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions.

Port Royal Speedway’s historic Tuscarora 50 was next for Dietrich on his weekend road trip, entering Friday’s ‘Night Before The Tuscarora 50,’ as well as Saturday’s $52,000-to-win, Tuscarora 50 finale. ‘Double-D’ capped his visit to the ‘Speed Palace’ with 11th and fourth place finishes, respectively, advancing a combined 12 positions over the course of two features, highlighting both starts with a fourth place outcome during the 50-lap Tuscarora 50.

“I thought we were pretty good all weekend. It was a great effort by everyone,” Danny Dietrich said, who owns 14 wins in 2019, including two against Tony Stewart’s All Stars. “We had a lot of our partners there with us this weekend including Derek from Sweeney, Pace and Self Made. To perform that well with him in town is really special.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2019 campaign with a monster weekend in Central Pennsylvania, first chasing the $5,000 Dirt Classic Qualifier at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 13. Dates: Friday and Saturday, September 6th & 7th
Event: 52nd Annual Tuscarora 50
Series: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1
Track: Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania.)
Tony Stewart A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 12th (3rd)
Saturday: 22nd (22nd)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 9, 2019) – Growing into one of the premier sprint car events on the east coast, and quite possibly the United States, ‘Smoke’ Tony Stewart spent the recent weekend participating in Port Royal Speedway’s annual Tuscarora 50; a 50-lap showstopper featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions, as well as the world-famous Pennsylvania Posse, with a top prize equalling $52,000.

Despite an overall weekend outcome that lacked personal expectations, Tony Stewart’s trip to the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace’ did show some promise, ultimately qualifying for the 50-lap finale on Saturday night after transferring through the evening’s B-Main. There were over 50 cars in attendance with Stewart finishing 22nd during the evening’s feature.

Technically kicking-off his weekend at Port Royal Speedway with the $5,000-to-win ‘Night Before The Tuscarora 50’ preliminary, Smoke finished 12th during the 30-lap feature on Friday, September 6, and earned the right to start third after finishing in the exact same position during the evening’s dash. Unfortunately, that is not where the Columbus, Indiana-native stayed.

“Despite our outcome, the Tuscarora 50 is a premier event and we were thrilled to be a part of it,” Tony Stewart said, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car. “Despite things not turning out how we wanted them to, we had a great trip to Pennsylvania. It’s amazing to see what Steve and his crew have been able to do at Port Royal over the last few seasons. I’m already excited for the opportunity to return.”

Upcoming plans for Tony Stewart remain uncertain. Fans should keep in tune with social media for continuing updates regarding Smoke’s upcoming agenda.

2019 World of Outlaws Championship Standings: 1st – 7774 points (six point lead over Brad Sweet)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 9, 2019) – The chase for the 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship remains close, but the fact is, Donny Schatz remains in command, now with a six point lead over season-long title contender, Brad Sweet.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 15 sprint car, recently concluded a three-race swing through Oregon and Washington, ending the four-day campaign with three consecutive top-ten appearances, two of which inside the top five. Perhaps Schatz’ most impressive performance of the weekend occurred during Silver Dollar Speedway’s Gold Cup Race of Champions finale on Saturday, September 7.

Forced to work his way out of the evening’s B-Main, all before nearly getting lapped during the first part of the main event, the ten-time and defending World of Outlaws champion eventually persevered in a big way and rallied to finish eighth during the Gold Cup feature, officially solidifying the evening’s Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions; 24th to eighth in 40 laps.

Donny Schatz opened his Silver Dollar Speedway visit with a fifth place outcome during the Gold Cup preliminary on Friday, September 6. Schatz started third on the grid and battled well within the top-five the entire 30-lap distance.

Adding more depth to his 2019 season statistics, the Fargo, North Dakota-native activated his long, three-race stretch by finishing fourth during a midweek visit to Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon, on Wednesday, September 4. Schatz finished second during his respective heat race.

“This team never gives up and I’m fortunate enough to be a part of that. No matter how deep the hole is, they are always looking up and working for ways to get out,” Donny Schatz said, who owns eight World of Outlaws victories in 2019. “We have to be able to remain consistent if we want to win a championship. Having the ability to advance from 24th to eighth is a true testament to that.”

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their quest toward the 2019 World of Outlaws championship with another three-race schedule over four days, this time visiting Placerville Speedway on Wednesday, September 11, Stockton Dirt Track on Friday, September 13, and finally, the very scenic Calistoga Speedway on Saturday, September 14.

Tony Stewart earns IRA victory at Plymouth Dirt Track

Series: IRA Outlaw Sprint Series
Track: Plymouth Dirt Track (Plymouth, Wisconsin)
Tony Stewart A-Main Finish (Start): 1st (2nd)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 5, 2019) – Nearly going two-for-two on the weekend, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and recent NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Stewart, left the Badger State on Saturday night, August 31, with a victory in his pocket, this time earning an IRA Outlaw Sprint Series feature win at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Resulting in Smoke’s ninth sprint car victory of the year, the triumph was accomplished from the front row, eventually leading all 30 circuits over a fast-charging Bill Balog. Balog, a multi-time IRA champion who has edged-out Stewart at Plymouth in the past, attempted to take the top spot away from the former IRA winner on multiple occasions, but the driver of the Tony Stewat/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car proved to be too strong.

“I love racing at Plymouth Dirt Track,” Tony Stewart said. “I’m glad I didn’t screw this one up like I did at Wilmot Raceway on Friday night. Plymouth is really cool. The fans are just great. We love racing here.”

Tony Stewart opened his weekend in Wisconsin with an IRA Outlaw Sprint Series appearance at Wilmot Raceway on Friday, August 30. Just one lap away from victory, Stewart misjudged his entry into turn three and spun to a stop, ultimately erasing all chances to be on top of the podium. The Columbus, Indiana-native settled for an 11th place finish.

Future plans for Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing stand as uncertain. Fans should stay alert on social media for continuing updates regarding the coming weekend.

Haas finds top-five during Bob Leiby Memorial; Tuscarora 50 next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

YORK, Pa. (September 3, 2019) – Two starts translated into back-to-back top-ten performances for York’s Cory Haas during the recent weekend: a perfect momentum shift as Port Royal Speedway’s annual Tuscarora 50, awarding a $52,000 top prize on Saturday, September 7, looms in the distance.

Haas, driver of John Trone’s Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Wicked Cushion/Bricker’s/York PB Truss/Creekside Auto Sales/Connecticut Oil Kings/Old Republic Distillery/No. 39 sprint car, finished eighth and fourth, respectively, during his recent weekend outing, kicking things off with an eighth place finish during the Keith Kauffman Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, August 30.

Certainly surpassing his Friday night result, Haas capped his Labor Day schedule with an impressive rally from ninth to finish fourth during Lincoln Speedway’s Bob Leiby Memorial on Saturday, August 31.

“It wasn’t a bad weekend for our team. We got rolling pretty good at Lincoln,” Cory Haas said, who owns two victories in 2019 including one at Williams Grove Speedway. “John Trone gives us what we need to be competitive and I’m confident we have what it takes to be competitive during the Tuscarora 50. It’s all about positioning. We have to put the entire night together. Getting the opportunity to start near the front is key.”

Port Royal Speedway’s Tuscarora 50 weekend featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions will activate on Friday, September 6, with the Night Before The 50 awarding a $5,000 top prize. Saturday’s 52nd running of the 50-lap Tuscarora 50 will award a $52,000 top prize; the largest payday on the 2019 All Star Circuit of Champions schedule.
