FOREST, Ohio (May 13, 2019) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports represented their fan base and team partners well during #LetsRaceTwo weekend at Eldora Speedway, ultimately qualifying for USAC National Sprint Car Series A-main competition against a top-notch field of 37 non-wing sprint car competitors.

Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M non-wing sprint car, not only qualified for main event action against the stout field on-hand, but he persevered and battled ahead for a 13th place finish; advancing three spots after starting 16th on the evening’s grid.

Ray Marshall Motorsports kicked off their night at The Big E with a third place finish during respective heat race action which solidified a spot in the evening’s ‘big dance.’

Unfortunately, Saturday’s #LetsRaceTwo program at Eldora Speedway was eventually lost to wet weather.

“With that level of competition, making the show is hard enough, let alone work for a top-five or top-ten. Matt [Westfall] was able to capitalize on his front row starting position in the heat and transfer into the feature. That was a big part of our night,” Ray Marshall explained. “Matt has the talent to be competitive alongside any driver or series in the country. I’m proud of him and everyone involved. We have a lot of racing coming up on our schedule. I’m excited to see how things unfold.”

With their first Eldora Speedway visit of 2019 officially in the books, the Forest, Ohio-based operation will now return their focus to Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) action, anxious to resume the schedule on Saturday night, May 18, with a visit to the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Westfall, who is seeking a BOSS Series championship in 2019, will enter Lawrenceburg’s gates with one BOSS victory to his credit this season, that occurring at the highbanks of Atomic Speedway in early April.

Before making the trip to Lawrenceburg, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will make the short trip to Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, May 17, for a regular, non-wing program.
