Rimersburg, PA – 7/27/12} Rimersburg native and Western Pennsylvania ‘410’ sprint car veteran, Scott Priester, now finds himself within thirty points of the Mercer Raceway Park track championship lead. The driver of the familiar Dionise Racing no. 15 ‘410’ sprint car has closed the point gab in the current standings to 28 markers shy of Eric Williams; Greenville, Pennsylvania native and current sprint car point leader at the Mercer oval. Priester is still winless at the 3/8’s mile bullring in 2012, but expresses a great deal of confidence about the upcoming weekend. A win at the Mercer oval this weekend would perhaps be enough to put Priester in control of the sprint car standings.

“I’m tired of seeing all of these young guys win!” chuckled Scott Priester about Mercer Raceway Park, “I’m going to win one this weekend for us old guys!”

Priester will start the upcoming weekend at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. The former Challenger Raceway track champion plans to pilot his own no. 11 ‘410’ sprinter this Friday night, July 27th, at the Sarver oval, before making the hike north to Mercer Raceway Park tomorrow night, July 28th, to race the Martha Dionise owned no. 15. Priester currently sits 13th in the Lernerville Speedway sprint car point standings; just 26 points shy of a top ten position. Both tracks on Friday and Saturday will host regular programs; including full formats for all weekly divisions while also awarding driver points.

In Priester’s most recent start in ‘410’ sprint car competition, the Dionise Racing owned ’15’ finished 4th in the Mercer Raceway Park ‘Sprint Slugout’ main event last Saturday night, July 2st; allowing Scott to continue his recent trend of 4th place finishes.

“We are due for a win!” explained Scott Priester, “We are having a pretty good year and I want to thank everybody who is involved one way or another…but we are most definitely due for a win!”
