Port Royal – The 2013 Port Royal Speedway racing schedule is nearing completion with opening day set for Saturday, March 16 at 6 PM.

Featured will be the 410 and 358 sprint cars as an open wheel doubleheader is spun off.

A Bug Day practice session is slated for one week earlier, on March 9 from 1 – 4 PM.

While the complete schedule of events is not yet ready for release, some details can be announced.

More than two -dozen appearances by 410 sprint cars are on the tentative schedule including what will be a full card of racing including the 410 sprints on Memorial Day Saturday, May 25, which is a switch from previous seasons.

Nearly 20 dates are tentatively planned for the super late models including a twin 15s program, a championship event and the marquee race for the division at the track, The Butch Renninger Memorial.

Another 15 or more pro stock races are tentatively slated along with nearly 10 enduro dashes.

Both local and national touring racing divisions will again be on the agenda although completed agreements have not yet been finalized with some organizations.

The full 2013 Port Royal tentative schedule of events will be released within the next 10 – 20 days.

Meanwhile, season passes and seats for the 2013 racing season at Port Royal Speedway are on sale for what is shaping up to be another exciting season of action.

And time is running out to renew season seats for previous ticket holders.

The deadline to renew season seats is February 1, 2013.

There is no increase in price for season seats and passes for the 2013 season as all rates remain unchanged from last year.

A season reserve seat for all race events including fairweek races in 2013 costs just $50.00. This pass reserves seats only and is not good for general admission to any events during the upcoming season.

Family Seating will once again be available at Port Royal in 2013. Section C of the main grandstand is designated as such and therefore NO SMOKING OR USE OF ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED IN SECTION C.

Current season seat ticket holders must submit their payment and request for renewal before February 1, 2013 or surrender their seats.

General admission season passes are available, again at a cost of just $300.00, which does include admission to all fairweek races in 2013.

In addition, season pit passes are being offered, again at a price of $400 each while reserved fan parking spots behind the grandstand are being offered again for $50.00. Please note that the parking passes will not be good for fairweek events.

The Port Royal Speedway awards banquet will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Port Royal Community Building, located along 4th St., just off of the speedway’s backstretch.

Doors for the ceremony will open at 5 p.m.
