Pennsylvania’s Coleby Frye Eyes NDRL’s $20,000 Prize at Roaring Knob

Pittsburgh, PA (August 25, 2013) Big money events in the Pennsylvania area are rare. When one pops up on a schedule, it’s a safe bet that Dover, Pennsylvania’s Coleby Frye will be there to support it.

The National Dirt Racing League and the ‘Let’s Get Dirty Tour’ will visit Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, PA for a Labor Day special on Monday, September 2 and the former Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) Rookie of the Year will be on hand to battle the ‘Kings of Dirt’ for the $20,000 top prize.

‘When we heard about the NDRL and what they’ve put together, we were certainly intrigued,’ Frye exclaimed. ‘Then they announced that they’ll be in Pennsylvania and we couldn’t help but be excited about what was going on. As a regional team, we have to thank John Kennedy and the entire staff for bringing these types of shows to the table. It gives us an opportunity to race for some really good money and against the best drivers in the country. They’re giving teams like ours a chance to see where we stack up against the best.’

Frye, who competes within the mid-Atlantic region mostly driving the Krenn family owned #32 Rocket Chassis has never had much luck at the unique Markleysburg, PA oval but does enjoy racing there. ‘The Knob is one of those places we haven’t been able to figure out yet, whether it’s the Krenn #32 or our family owned #F1, we just haven’t had much luck there. We’ve been fast’, said the 28 year-old, ‘but don’t have the finishes to prove it.’

‘We’re really looking forward to spending Labor Day at Roaring Knob. The NDRL seems to have a pretty neat day planned with the concert and everything. It should be a great experience for the fans to come out and see a concert, fireworks, and the best late model drivers in the country all in one place.’ Coleby continued, ‘I hope the NDRL will continue to have these bigger shows and hopefully have more events around the region, we need a good regional series around here now that the MACS, All Stars, and STARS are all gone, and we haven’t had that kind of series around here in a few years now.’

Frye will be joined by an unprecedented list of stars including NDRL point leader Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI, Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR, Muscatine, IA’s Brian Birkhofer, Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, IL, Shannon Babb if Moweaqua, IL, Eddie Carrier Jr., of Salt Rock, WV, Ashland, KY’s Steve Francis, the Kennedy Motorsports drivers, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, GA, Tim Fuller of Watertown, NY, Seaford, DE’s Austin Hubbard, Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS, and Vic Coffey of Caledonia, NY. Also expected to be in attendance are local and regional stars like Davey Johnson, Mason Zeigler, Jacob Hawkins, Jared Hawkins, Jeremy Miller, Gregg Satterlee, Cody Hardesty, Dan Stone, Keith Barbara, Chuck Harper, and Roaring Knob point leader Tim Scenic among others.

Tickets are available online at the NDRL’s official website, www.theNDRL.com. Fans can enjoy a pre-race, holiday concert by Cody McCarver at 2:00pm before the driver autograph session will be held at 3:30pm. The night’s driver’s meeting will be held at approximately 5:30pm with hot laps scheduled for 6:00pm.
