Stevie Smith, the Black Bandit, Seeks Full-Time Ride for 2014
NEW OXFORD, Pa. — September 9, 2013 — All good things must come to an end. With that being said, Stevie Smith and CJB Motorsports are parting ways at the conclusion of the 2013 race season, leaving the Black Bandit in search of a ride for 2014.
“Chad and Jenn Clemens have been wonderful. I was so excited that they decided to put the #19 back on the track for a 40 race season this year. We had hoped to give Chad and Jenn better results, but things just didn’t go our way. My team, Jeremy, Heath, John, and Mike worked hard. We got ourselves in a lot of good situations, but for whatever reason couldn’t produce the finishes we wanted,” Smith said. “Our goal for the rest of this year is to score a victory for CJB Motorsports and go out on a positive note for everyone involved.”
“Chad and Jenn want to focus their efforts on their other car. In today’s world, it’s tough to field two sprint car teams,” Smith explained. I can’t thank them enough for sticking with me through many ups and downs over the last two years. I wish them the best of luck. I’m looking forward to whatever might be next for me. I know I can still win races. I’m just looking for the right opportunity to do it,” Smith said.
Many thanks also go to CJB Motorsports partners All Star Performance, Butler Built, Spectro Oils, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Bairs Tree Service, Nyce Crete, Landis Block and Concrete, and more.
Smith is open to running a full-time or 50-60 race schedule in 2014. He will finish this year in the CJB #19 with his next race coming this weekend at Selinsgrove Speedway for their Jim Nace Memorial 31st Annual National Open. The rest of this year’s schedule can be viewed at www.theblackbandit.com.
