Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania, will host the 22nd running of the Western PA Sprint Championship this Saturday, September 10th; boasting a $3,000 pay day to the winner and double points for the entire 410 sprint car class. Fully Injected hotshoes, Rod George and Adam Kekich, both find themselves sitting inside the top five of the current MRP point standings. Kekich, who started his open wheel career competing in the limited sprint car class at Sharon Speedway, currently finds himself sitting fourth in the championship standings entering the $3,000 to win event; only 10 points ahead of fellow Fully Injected teammate, Brandon Matus.
Rod George, a former track champion and multi-time winner at the Mercer bullring this season, is only 17 points shy of current point holder, Bob Felmlee. A large points gap by Felmlee has been fading slowly over the course of the past few weekends; leaving George and the entire Dr. John Crawford no. 4 team an opportunity to steal the title.
Both George and Kekich have a great deal of positive momentum entering this prestigious event; which will hopefully translate into a Fully Injected decal entering victory lane once again at Mercer Raceway Park.

Adam Kekich; a third generation driver from Hermitage, Pennsylvania, expressed excitement and enthusiasm when discussing this weekend’s ‘Western PA Championship.’ The eighteen-year-old has been having a phenomenal rookie season in the 410 sprint car class; recording two heat race wins, multiple top 10 feature finishes and a season high 3rd place finish at Mercer Raceway Park. When discussing his attitude towards the season, Adam replied:
“We are really pleased with how our rookie season went. Every night we went out and capitalized on something new we may have learned…my crew worked hard all season and I would like to give them a win (this weekend at Mercer) to cap off the season…
….I just would like to also thank everybody for the support; and Fully Injected for getting our name out there.”
Adam’s plans for the remainder of the season include hitting and missing regional shows in Pennsylvania and Ohio; as well as a probable appearance with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Lernerville Speedway on Saturday, September 24.

Kittanning, Pennsylvania’s Fully Injected veteran, Rod George, is no stranger to sprint car racing or victory lane. The veteran has multiple wins at Mercer Raceway Park in 2011; bringing his overall total at the Mercer facility to 28 in his career. George is currently tied with Bob Felmlee in the win category at the facility with 28 wins each; creating a tie for fifth all-time on the wins chart.
Celebrating his 35th year in competition this season would only end properly with a Mercer Raceway Park Track Championship. George will have that opportunity to this weekend – along with snagging $3,000 in the mean time.
