Lincoln Speedway Finale Set for October 10

York, PA (October 5, 2015) – After waiting three days through the cold and rain, the Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway went on as planned, utilizing the Sunday, October 4, rain date for the $50,000-to-win, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series program. Chase Dietz, a 410 sprint car rookie in central Pennsylvania, joined the national travelers and “Pennsylvania Posse” at “The Grove” on Sunday night, attempting to earn a career-first National Open main event start. Despite falling shy of his weekend goal, Chase Dietz made the best of his first ever National Open appearance and looks forward to rejoining “The Greatest Show on Dirt” in the future. The York, Pennsylvania, native finished third during the evening’s C-main after finishing seventh during heat race competition. Due to his efforts, Dietz was also awarded the “National Open Rookie of the Year” title worth $1,500.
“The night kinda got started a little rough for us, but we still made the best of things” said Chase Dietz, “We broke a torsion stop during hot laps and that kept us from getting any feel for the track. Timing poor really put us behind all night. We didn’t get through our heat race and eventually had to race the C-main. Our night ended there, but we raced well. There were a lot of good cars in that C-main with us. We were disappointed, but that’s how it goes sometimes. We’ll put ourselves in a better position next time and work to improve.”
Chase Dietz will continue his 2015 campaign this Saturday evening, October 10, at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The pilot of the Scott Gobrecht, Golf Cart Services, Bad Boy Buggies, ServiceMaster Clean Janitorial Service of York and Lancaster, Gettysburg Rental Company, #44, will revisit the site of his first career 410 sprint car victory in an attempt to repeat success and capture the final race of 2015 in the Pigeon Hills. The annual Hank Gentzler Memorial Manufacturers Night will headline Dietz’s schedule on Saturday night, helping to wrap-up another season at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway. “Dynamite” Dietz has one Lincoln victory in 2015 during 410 sprint car competition, as well as four top-ten finishes. The college freshman finished 11th in the final track championship standings.
