Marks Earns Top-Ten During Tuscarora 50 Main, $8,000 Potential Awaits at Selinsgrove

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, PA (September 12, 2016) – Despite his 2016 outcome differing from that of 2015, Marks completed Tuscarora 50 weekend at the Port Royal Speedway half-mile on a high note; climbing nine positions during the 50-lap, $12,000-to-win, Tuscarora 50 finale on Saturday evening, September 10, to solidify himself inside the top-ten. Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M entry, finished eighth during the 49th running of the Tuscarora 50, a second consecutive top-ten after winning in 2015.

Unfortunately, the “Myerstown Missile” was cut short of a potential top-ten finish during the Night Before The Tuscarora 50 on Friday, September 9; making contact with another driver while trying to avoid a caution. Marks was racing inside the top-ten when the incident occurred.

“Those things happen. We just had nowhere to go,” Marks said. “We went ahead and built a new car for Saturday and things worked out for the better. We were able to show a lot of speed and move through the field pretty quickly. I’m happy for this team and I’m glad to have the ability to rebuild and stay focused. Things fell short of last year, but that’s going to happen at times. All we can do now is move forward and work to better ourselves during the upcoming weekend.”

Brent Marks will keep his 2016 campaign rolling with a pair of Central Pennsylvania visits this Friday and Saturday, September 16-17, including a return to the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night, September 17. The Jim Nace Memorial/34th Annual National Open for 410 sprint cars will headline competition at the Selinsgrove half-mile, awarding $8,000-to-win/$600-to-start after 35 laps of green flag competition.

Brent Marks will launch the upcoming weekend with a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday night, September 16.

“A lot of our remaining schedule wraps around action in Central Pennsylvania,” Brent Marks said. “It allows us to focus more on preparation and working in the shop, rather than planning our travel arrangements. It’s going to be a fun weekend. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can get through both programs without any distractions.”
