T.J. Michael highlights Ohio Sprint Speedweek with top-ten at Sharon
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FREMONT, Ohio (June 25, 2018) – T.J. Michael’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek campaign against the All Star Circuit of Champions started out slow, but hit high speed in a hurry, turning his entire week around during competition at Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, June 19.
Michael, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Cast Stone/Fremont Fence Company/Crown Battery/Kear’s Speed Shop/Hinchman Suits/Big D’s Pizza of Fremont and Clyde/Kistler Racing Engines/Maxim Chassis/Wood Heating & Air Conditioning/Pro Tech Service Company/No. 8M sprint car, turned a lot of heads during his Ohio Sprint Speedweek visit to the northeast Ohio oval, not only securing a dash position by way of heat race victory, but translating his dash spot into an impressive charge through the field.
Starting 12th on the main event grid by way of dash result, the “Texas Traveler” advanced six positions during the 30-lap program, crossing under the final checkers sixth in the running order; his first top-ten finish against Tony Stewart’s All Stars in 2018.
The former All Star traveler backed-up his top-ten performance with a charge from 18th to finish 12th during the Atomic Speedway/Speedweek make-up feature on Saturday, June 23, followed by a 17th place finish during the $10,000-to-win, inaugural Rick Ferkel Classic/Ohio Sprint Speedweek finale later that evening. There were 47 entries on hand.
“What a weekend. It feels great to put together a solid stretch of finishes like that. I owe it all to this team, my family, and all of my supporters. We never give up and we keep pressing forward. That’s all you can do when things get tough,” Michael said. “We have a full plate of FAST action this weekend. We’ll work to keep the good finishes coming.”
T.J. Michael will return to sprint car competition this Friday and Saturday, June 29 & 30, with a pair of FAST Series starts at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. The “Texas Traveler” will enter the weekend just outside of the top-five in the FAST championship standings.
