YORK, Pa. (July 16, 2018) – Cory Haas’ 2018 schedule is about to hit another busy stretch, soon joining the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series for a trio of programs in Posse Country beginning with the rescheduled Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, July 19. Haas, who recently picked-up a top-ten finish during action in the Pigeon Hills on Saturday, July 14, has yet to join the World of Outlaws in 2018, but will work to defend home territory in a big way and defeat the Greatest Show On Dirt.
“There is always a lot of hype surrounding an Outlaw weekend in Central Pennsylvania,” Haas explained, driver of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Eagle Evergreens/Bricker’s/DMI/Bulldog Rear Ends/York PB Truss/No. 39 sprint car. “Hopefully Mother Nature actually plays nice this weekend and allows us to get an Outlaw program in. We’ve been having a fairly successful last few weeks; earning consistent top-ten finishes during starts at Williams Grove and Lincoln. We’ll see what happens.”
Cory Haas will enter the Gettysburg Clash with more than a handful of successful starts in Central Pennsylvania. The recent Williams Grove Speedway winner finished third during the Outlaw Tune-Up at The Grove on Friday, July 13, followed by a tenth place finish during the second of two features at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, July 14.
In addition, Haas recorded top-ten finishes at Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway during Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek starts, all highlighted with a charge from 15th to finish ninth during the Speedweek opener on Friday, June 29.
Following the Gettysburg Clash, Haas will join the World of Outlaws at Williams Grove Speedway for Summer Nationals competition on Friday and Saturday, July 20 & 21. The Summer Nationals finale will award a $20,000 payday.
“The big thing is putting yourself in position early. A solid qualifying effort will help us obtain that,” Cory Haas said. “I think we have what it takes to beat these guys at Williams Grove or Lincoln, but it all starts with qualifying.”
