MYERSTOWN, Pa. (April 29, 2019) – Despite Mother Nature spoiling most of his weekend in the Midwest including a scheduled pole position at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on Sunday evening (wet weather invaded the area before the evening’s feature could take place), the ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks did make the most of his weekend and finished 11th with the Greatest Show On Dirt at Lake Ozark (Mo.) Speedway on Friday, April 26.
Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, started 15th on the feature grid before crossing under the final checkers one spot shy a top-ten finish. The Myerstown, Pa., native finished fourth during heat race action to kick off his evening.
“Not a lot more disappointing than a lot of wet weather, especially when we were scheduled to start on the pole on Sunday night at Jacksonville Speedway,” Brent Marks explained, who earned his pole position by way of dash victory, just after rallying from 10th to second during his respective heat race. “That’s just how things go sometimes. We had a pretty solid night at Lake Ozark on Friday. We’ll take that result and move forward.”
Brent Marks and Brent Marks Racing will continue their 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a pair of starts at Riverside (Ark.) International Speedway and Tri-State (Ind.) Speedway on Friday and Saturday, May 3 & 4, respectively. Marks will enter the Arkansas/Indiana doubleheader 11th in the current World of Outlaws championship standings.
