MYERSTOWN, Pa. (July 30, 2019) – It was a successful weekend close to home for the ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks, joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for two nights of Summer Nationals competition at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday, July 26 & 27.

When the weekend dust settled, Marks found himself with another mark in the top-ten column, as well as another Hard Charger Award with the Greatest Show On Dirt, this time charging ahead from 23rd to finish 12th during the $20,000-to-win Summer Nationals finale on July 27. Impressive enough, Marks was forced to do things the hard way on Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway, eventually transferring through the evening’s B-main to secure his main event start.

Marks’ top-ten result occurred on Friday night during the Summer Nationals preliminary, crossing under the final checkers ninth in the running order after starting tenth on the grid. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania-native solidified his main event starting position by finishing third during his respective heat race.

Technically, the driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 activated his weekend close to home with a Tuesday night start at Lernerville Speedway on July 23, ending his evening 14th in the running order.

“It’s always great getting the chance to race close to home. We get to see all of our friends and family, as well as spend time with our partners that are located in Central Pennsylvania,” Brent Marks said, who is currently tenth in the World of Outlaws standings. “It was a solid week for our team. We showed a lot of speed at Williams Grove, but we started too far back on Saturday. We’ll get another opportunity to race at Williams Grove Speedway later in the year.”

Brent Marks will continue his 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with two nights of Ironman competition at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, August 2 & 3. A total winner’s share equalling $28,000 will be awarded during the two-day stint in Missouri; $8,000 on Friday and $20,000 on Saturday.
