FREMONT, Ohio (June 2, 2021) – Fresh off of his visit to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” for Bob Weikert Memorial action on Monday, May 31, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael will continue his 2021 All Star Circuit of Champions campaign with a return trip to the Midwest, set to join “America’s Series,” as well as the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series, for a four-pack in Illinois and Wisconsin.
The four-race weekend will ignite officially with a stop at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, on Thursday, June 3, followed by a Wisconsin tripleheader at Wilmot Raceway, Plymouth Dirt Track, and Angell Park Speedway on Friday through Sunday, June 4-6. Fairbury’s invasion will award a $5,000 top prize, with the following three nights in the Badger State awarding $6,000.
“It should be a fun weekend. We’re excited to get started,” Michael said, driver of the Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kistler Racing Engines, Elite Wings, Big D’s Pizza, Viva Los Healthy, M&L Graphics, HP Striping and Seal Coating, No. 8M sprint car. “We didn’t have the night we wanted at Port Royal, but we’ll put those results behind us and move forward. That’s all anyone can do. I’m proud of my team and I’m thankful to have the support that we do. We have a lot of great partners who make a schedule like ours possible, so we’re going to do what we can to get this ‘8M’ up front this weekend.”
The “Texas Traveler” will enter the weekend eleventh in the All Star Circuit of Champions driver standings, padded by a tenth-place score at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois.
In addition to a top-ten, Michael’s Dirt Oval performance was strong enough to also solidify the evening’s Hard Charger Award for making the most feature progress; Michael started 19th.
