FOREST, Ohio (July 26, 2021) – A near-perfect weekend for the pilot of Ray Marshall’s “Bumblebee Express,” Matt Westfall turned a pair of Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) starts into back-to-back podium finishes, doing so during a Western Pennsylvania doubleheader at Lernerville Speedway and Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Friday and Saturday, July 23-24. Westfall, a former BOSS Series champion for Ray Marshall at Ray Marshall Motorsports, finished second and first, respectively, during the BOSS double, securing a $2,000 payday along the way.

Westfall’s win at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile commenced from the outside of row two, utilizing the bottom groove to track down the race lead by lap 20. Adding some hype to the overall outcome, the Pittsburgh victory snapped a five-race BOSS Series win streak for Isaac Chapple, simultaneously snapping Westfall’s personal win drought that dates back to April 9.

“This was a big weekend for our team. To come out with a pair of podium finishes is pretty significant,” Westfall said, driver of Ray Marshall’s Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “I just want to thank Ray Marshall and the entire team for everything that they do. If it wasn’t for Ray, we wouldn’t be out here doing this. We owed Ray a win, so this is for him. We’re hoping to do the same this week.”

“What a total team effort,” Ray Marshall added. “I’m proud of Matt and I’m proud of the entire team. I’m confident this is just one of many more wins to come during the second half of our season.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with a three-race sweep through Indiana and Ohio, set to join the USAC National Sprints for Indiana Sprint Speedweek starts at Terre Haute Action Track and Lincoln Park Speedway on July 28-29, followed by a Friday night visit to Limaland Motorsports Park on July 30.

Certainly no stranger to success at the tracks on the weekend schedule, Westfall’s most recent visit to Limaland resulted in a podium outcome, finishing third on Friday, June 4.
