Hermitage, PA (August 12th, 2013) – Adam Kekich earned a second-career ‘410’ sprint car victory this past Saturday evening, August 10th at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; holding back Dan Kuriger, Jack Sodeman, Jr., Andy Priest and Andy McKisson for the 25-lap, ‘Saturday Night Live!’ victory. The win allowed the Hermitage, Pennsylvania native to maintain his spot inside the top-five of the current Mercer Raceway Park ‘410’ sprint car standings; ending the weekend fourth (4th), officially, in the driver rankings. Adam Kekich trails current point leader and defending track champion, Eric Williams, by ninety-two (92) markers.
Kekich, who earned his first-career ‘410’ sprint car victory at the Mercer bullring during the 2012 season, made his August 10th victory extra special by dedicating it to his late grandfather and former racer, Paul “Putsy” Kekich. Adam Kekich is a third-generation sprint car driver, and now a multi-time third generation sprint car winner.
With family obligations keeping Adam Kekich away from the race track during the upcoming weekend, the pilot of the familiar Kekich Racing ‘5K’ will push his attention forward to the Fifth Annual ‘Lou Blaney Memorial’ at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio on Tuesday, August 20th; featuring the ‘410’ sprint cars and BRP Modifieds. The ‘Lou Blaney Memorial,’ which will feature NASCAR stars Dave Blaney and Kyle Larson in ‘410’ sprint cars, will award $5,000 to the winner of the ‘410’ sprint car main event on August 20th.
Adam Kekich competes at the eastern Ohio 3/8’s mile oval as often as the ‘410’ sprinters are featured. Although Adam has never won a main event at the state-of-the-art Sharon Speedway facility, his father, Mike Kekich, is a former regular competitor and winner; giving Adam Kekich a slight advantage every time he hits the Sharon Speedway surface. If the recent ‘Steel City Stampede’ ‘305’ sprint car champion can earn the ‘Lou Blaney Memorial’ title, it would be the biggest win of his young career. For more information pertaining to the $5,000-to-win ‘Lou Blaney Memorial’ at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio on August 20th, please visit the facility online at www.sharonspeedway.com. Advanced ticket info is also available at the track’s website.
Adam Kekich, who pilots the Kekich Racing, Sunburst Environmental, Tight Seal Glass Block, Hermitage Agway, no. 5K ‘410’ sprint car, has three (3) career sprint car victories under his belt, and will attempt to earn win number four (4), and the biggest of his career, next Tuesday night, August 20th. Kekich owns two (2) career ‘410’ wins at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; and also owns one (1) career ‘305’ sprint car victory at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Other 2013 season highlights for Adam Kekich and Kekich Racing include qualifying for two consecutive UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions main events at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio; as well as earning an UNOH All Star heat race win at the Mercer Raceway Park.
