CARLISLE, Pa. (June 20, 2022) – It was an impressive two-day campaign for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, not only recording a pair of top-five outcomes in Beaver Dam Raceway’s Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial on June 17-18, but leading laps in the process, ultimately cashing in for a pair of fourth-place finishes which bumped his season’s top-five total to ten.

After finishing fourth from fourth on Friday, forced to scoot by Shark Racing’s Logan Schuchart to secure his position, Bayston, driver of the CJB Motorsports, Signing Day Sports, Bubbly Brands, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, FK Rod Ends, Allstar Performance, No. 5 sprint car, would go on to put together an even more exciting display on Saturday, earning the feature pole by way of dash finish before leading the first 12 circuits. Although in command for over a quarter of the program, Bayston would ultimately slip back, fading to ninth at one point in the 41-lapper.

Despite the setback, Bayston recovered, digging in and eventually reversing the pattern before utilizing a green/white/checkered restart to make up most of his ground.

“Overall, I am really pleased with our results this weekend,” Spencer Bayston said, a 2022 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year candidate and one-time winner this season. “We have a lot of really important races coming up during these next couple of months and our consistency has me looking forward to all of them. Two top-fives is something to be very happy about, however, I still feel I have so much more to learn.

“With starting on the pole Saturday, I was really looking to get that second win of the year, but a couple of mistakes kept us from that,” Bayston continued. “In order to win these races perfection is a must and it’s something we strive for every night. My guys have done an awesome job all year long and I am learning so much this year. We are excited to see what the future holds.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with four nights of competition at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, on Wednesday through Saturday, June 22-25, all of which headlined with the High Bank Nationals that technically begins Thursday, June 23, with a $15,000-to-win preliminary.
