2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Eighth | 7,146 points [ 500 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

CARLISLE, Pa. (September 12, 2022) -It was Spencer Bayston’s first-ever visit to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California, and despite facing off against a stout contingent of local competition, as well a loaded roster of experienced full-time Outlaws, the Lebanon, Indiana, native and CJB Motorsports entry performed well, concluding the $25,000-to-win Gold Cup Race of Champions with a top-ten performance on Saturday, September 10.
Bayston, a two-time World of Outlaws winner this season, one of which a $25,000 Bristol Bash score at Bristol Motor Speedway, finished his top-ten run in Chico seventh in the running order, advancing two positions from the inside of row five. Adding some luster to his weekend results, Bayston launched preliminary competition with a podium performance on Friday, September 9; he finished third from fourth on the grid.
The field was split into two parts with half of the field participating in a Thursday night preliminary, and the other half participating in a Friday night preliminary.
“Heading to a race track that is notoriously tough for first timers makes me pleased with our performance this weekend,” Spencer Bayston said, driver of the TrueTimber Camo, Signing Day Sports, Bubbly Brands, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car. “California has been trying for our team, but to leave Chico with a top-ten outcome leaves us confident and excited for Keller Auto Speedway on Friday. It’s been a fun and productive West Coast swing for our team, so our goal is to leave California with a bang.”
