FOREST, Ohio (September 12, 2022) – It was an elbows-up weekend in the Land of Lincoln for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, and although it was their first trip of the season to Jacksonville Speedway and Spoon River Speedway, the Ohio non-wingers faired well, concluding the two-day, two-race Xtreme Outlaw Sprint Car Series sweep with one top-ten finish, doing so in their Friday night invasion of Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Westfall, the ace of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators Inc/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, earned his top-ten appearance by finishing seventh, improving one position from the outside of row four. The Pleasant Hill, Ohio, native went on to finish 12th at Spoon River the following evening.

Although the team was unable to accomplish the ultimate goal, Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue the month of September on a path of success, earning four victories to date including three during BOSS Series competition. In addition, Westfall and his Ray Marshall-powered program are the defending BOSS champions.

“Just one of those weekends,” Westfall concluded, who had not raced in that area of Illinois in 22 years. “We’ll shake it off and move forward. We have a lot of racing left this season, so we’ll do everything we can to get back on track and get this Ray Marshall Motorsports entry back to victory lane.”
