CARLISLE, Pa. (May 31, 2022) – Poor luck may have ruined his party at Atomic Speedway on Saturday night, suffering from engine failure with one lap remaining, but Spencer Bayston, ace of the CJB Motorsports, Signing Day Sports, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, No. 5 sprint car, made up for the issues with a top-five score in Lawrenceburg Speedway’s Memorial Day Spectacular on Monday evening, May 30.

Elbows-up for all 30 circuits, Bayston was fifth on the Lawrenceburg scorecard, dueling on the highbanks with the likes of Kyle Larson, David Gravel, Logan Schuchart, and Gio Scelzi. The Lebanon, Indiana, native earned his way into the evening’s main event by way of runner-up finish during his respective heat race, driving on to finish third in the program’s dash.

Bayston now owns seven top-five finishes as a full-time Outlaw.

“We didn’t have the night we wanted at Atomic, but to regroup for a top-five at Lawrenceburg says so much about our team. It’s an exciting place to race and nothing is ever a guarantee. You have to be up on the wheel the entire time,” Bayston said, a World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender. “I’m becoming more and more comfortable in the car. I’m excited to see what we can do going forward.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a trip through the Dakotas, first visiting River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Friday, June 3, followed by a stop at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, on Sunday, June 5.
