By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (April 4, 2022) – Despite a weather shortened weekend for Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing, the decision to travel south and join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in Oklahoma and Texas proved to payoff, ultimately capping the two-race turned single race weekend with a podium performance at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Saturday, April 2.
Brown, driver of the Brian Brown Racing, Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Rowdy Energy, Ditzfeld transfer, Champion Brands, MC Power, Weld Wheels, Housby, Maxim Chassis, J.D. Welding & Machine, Waldinger, Smiley’s Racing Products, No. 21 sprint car, finished third to end his evening at the birthplace of the Outlaws, leading the first three laps from the pole position before losing command to eventual winner, Brent Marks. Ten-time World of Outlaws champion, Donny Schatz, also snuck by Brown but not until the midpoint of the 30-lapper.
“Blackjack” earned his way into the Texas Outlaw Nationals main event by way of runner-up finish during his respective heat race. The weekend was supposed to also include a visit to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma, on Friday, April 1, but Mother Nature had other plans.
“Overall, it was a great night for our team…we qualified great, did our job in the heat race, and our dash car was the best car we’ve had all year,” Brian Brown said, who plans to join the World of Outlaws again during the coming weekend at US 36 and Lake Ozark. “I got moving around a bit too early in the feature and the 19 got a good run on us. He was able to sneak by us, so I just tucked in line and got myself prepared for traffic. When we got to traffic, he made a great move to clear three lappers in one corner. I wasn’t able to do the same, allowing Marks to run away.
Regardless, it was a great night…a little disappointed but certainly not ungrateful,” Brown continued. “We are still a new team with three crew members that weren’t with us at this time last year. Danny, Tye, and Justin did great all night and I’m really proud of where we are right now.”
ON DECK:
Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing will continue their 2022 campaign with another World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series doubleheader, this time battling through the Show-Me State with stops at US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri, and Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9. The weekend will headline with the annual Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark awarding $15,000 to the winner.
