‘Bonzai’ Bova Earns Top-Five Finish at Thunder Mountain
Potential Three Race Weekend Ahead for Cody Bova

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Struthers, Ohio (July 15th, 2015) – Cody Bova continued his 2015 season last weekend with a pair of ‘305’ sprint car events in western Pennsylvania. Bova, who has been driving for two different car owners during much of his 2015 campaign, highlighted his recent weekend with a top-five performance on Friday night, July 10th at the Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pennsylvania. The Struthers, Ohio native piloted the Skip Dougherty Racing,  V.G. Dougherty Real Estate, LLC., Court Reporting, Utilities and Industries, no. 27 ‘305’ sprint car from a ninth starting position to finish fourth officially on Friday night. Bova is a one-time feature winner at the Brookville, 3/8-mile clay oval and is officially eligible for the 2015 title chase.

“Not a bad weekend” said Cody Bova, “We were pretty good on Friday night. Had the car where it needed to be. Skip Dougherty gave me a great opportunity this year to drive for him. We’ve been pretty consistent so far. We want to keep that going for the rest of the season.”

Cody Bova entered action at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, July 11th. Despite extensive damage from a previous weekend to his own Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, J.S. Paris Excavating, no. 20B ‘305’ sprint car, Bova still made the call on Saturday night at ‘M.R.P.’ and drove the Skip Dougherty Racing machine with a Bova Racing top wing. It proved to be a tough night for the Bova Racing stable; finishing 10th in the running order after starting 12th.

“Just a tough night” said Bova, “We had some trouble getting the car right and it made it tough to drive during the entire feature. We haven’t had the best last few weeks at Mercer Raceway Park. We need to turn that around soon. I want to thank Skip for allowing us to use his car at MRP while ours is being repaired. That allowed us to stay in the points race and that means a lot to my team.”

Cody Bova’s 2015 campaign will continue this weekend with a potential trio of ‘305’ sprint car events in western Pennsylvania. ‘Bonzai’ will return to the driver seat of the Skip Dougherty Racing no. 27 on Friday evening, July 17th at Thunder Mountain Speedway. The upcoming weekend will resume on Saturday evening, July 18th with action back at Mercer Raceway Park in the Bova Racing ‘20B.’ A potential third round of action will take shape on Sunday, July 19th at Sportsman’s Speedway in Knox, Pennsylvania.

“Hopefully everything will go down as planned and we can get three races in this weekend” said Cody Bova, “June and July has been up and down for us. We want to get back on track this weekend and find victory lane.”
