Wampum, PA (May 8th, 2013) – Brandon Matus has upset the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions already once during his young career, and looks to do it again this weekend when the traveling ‘410’ sprint car series comes to Matus’ home turf’ in Western Pennsylvania. Brandon Matus, who pilots the Sobczak Electric, Matus Service Center, Miller Masonry no. 13 ‘410’ sprint car regularly in Western Pennsylvania, will go head-to-head with the UNOH All Stars this Friday and Saturday, May 10th & 11th, when they visit the Lernerville Speedway (PA) and Mercer Raceway Park (PA). The UNOH All Stars, lead by series’ point leader and former champion, Dale Blaney, will kick off their upcoming Western Pennsylvania swing at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday, May 10th; followed by an appearance at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 11th. Brandon Matus has plenty of experience at both Western Pennsylvania dirt ovals, and is a former ‘410’ sprint car winner at the Lernerville Speedway. ‘The Wheelman’ also owns one (1) victory during UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions competition; that coming at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio during the series’ annual ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ tour. If things go according to plan for the fourth generation sprint car driver, Matus could end the upcoming weekend with three (3) career UNOH All Star victories.

Brandon Matus will first take-on the invading UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday evening, May 10th, when they visit the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA. Matus has one (1) career feature win at the Sarver oval during ‘410’ sprint car competition; that coming during a ‘Fab Four’ event near the end of 2011 season. Although Brandon Matus has not visited ‘Sheetz Victory Lane’ at the Lernerville Speedway since the 2011 season, ‘The Wheelman’ still manages to stay overly consistent, and finishes inside the top five, and the top ten, on a regular basis. The Friday night ‘National’/ ‘Ohio Region’ UNOH All Star program will be highlighted with a $5,000-to-win main event. For more information, please visit Lernerville Speedway online at www.lernerville.com.

The Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania will be the second stop for Brandon Matus during the upcoming weekend. The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions will conclude their first mini-swing of Western Pennsylvania in 2013 on Saturday evening, May 11th, at the Mercer 3/8’s mile oval. Brandon Matus is a regular competitor at the Mercer oval; and has scored multiple top five, and top ten finishes, during Mercer feature competition. A win this Saturday night against the UNOH All Stars would give Matus not only another mark in the UNOH All Star win column, but it would give the Wampum native his first career Mercer Raceway Park victory. The Saturday night program will feature a $5,000-to-win main event for the ‘410’ sprint cars; awarding ‘National’ and ‘Ohio Region’ points. Each evening will offer a full slate of ‘410’ sprint car competition; packed with time trials, heat races, last chance consolation events, and a $5,000-to-win A-main. Dale Blaney is the current UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions point leader heading into this weekend’s Western Pennsylvania double-header. The events at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park will both be considered ‘National’ and ‘Ohio Region’ events.
