GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (July 11, 2022) – Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing did what they do best at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, and that’s find success. Another podium result was the eventual outcome for the Grain Valley, Missouri-based open wheel outfit, capping their Knoxville Raceway effort on Saturday, July 9, with an impressive charge from seventh to finish second.
Although ending his evening one spot short, Brown did not go down without the fight, actually sliding eventual winner, Gio Scelzi, for the lead. Scelzi would ultimately turn back underneath.
Brown, ace of the Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Rowdy Energy, No. 21 sprint car, opened action with the second-fastest qualifying time of 32 entries, driving on to finish third from sixth in his respective heat race.
“It was a solid night overall,” Brown explained, a three-time winner at Knoxville Raceway in 2022 including one against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. “We had a great opportunity to get by Gio for the lead, but I just couldn’t make it stick. We’ll take the second and move on with our heads up.
“A big weekend ahead with a lot of money on the line,” Brown added about his upcoming visit to Eldora Speedway. “I feel like our team is prepared to go there and build four great runs.”
