JONESTOWN, Pa. (April 11, 2022) – It was a solid evening at Lake Ozark Speedway for Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing, ultimately etching another mark in the top-ten column with a sixth-place performance in the annual Jason Johnson Classic on Saturday, April 9. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native started sixth on the feature grid, earning his way into the $15,000-to-win showstopper with a heat race victory.
Wanting more from the drop of the green, Zearfoss, pilot of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, Berkebile Oil Company, X-1 Race Cars, K1 RaceGear, No. 3Z sprint car, went straight to work and did his best to make progress early on in the Jason Johnson Classic A-Main, scooting to the top of the speedway in hopes of picking off positions before the groove narrowed. Despite his attempts, Zearfoss was forced to settle into seventh, actually gaining a position on the final circuit at Brady Bacon’s misfortune; he cut a tire coming to the white flag.
Track conditions proved tricky for the Jason Johnson Classic A-Main starters, as a slick-turned-abrasive surface made passing very strenuous.
“It’s been a long, tough stretch for this team since leaving Cotton Bowl Speedway, but results like these show we can persevere and move forward. Hats off to everyone involved. We needed this top-ten and I’m sure it’s the first of many more to come,” Zearfoss said, a former Port Royal Speedway track champion and World of Outlaws winner at Williams Grove Speedway. “We’re slowly making our way back east and I’m excited to race a little closer to home in the coming weeks.”
ON DECK:
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their sophomore campaign with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series with another doubleheader in the Show-Me State, set to invade Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16. A warm-up for the annual 55-lap/$20,000-to-win Ironman 55, the two-day visit to greater St. Louis will feature two, full programs and will cap all World of Outlaws action in the Show-Me State until the Series returns for the aforementioned Ironman in early August.
