JONESTOWN, Pa. (April 26, 2020) – It was a long haul to the Mount Rushmore State for Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing, but the long haul was worth the miles logged, as the ‘Jonestown Jet’ earned his first sprint car victory of the season on Saturday night, out dueling some of the best in the business to do so.

Zearfoss, driver of the familiar Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./C&D Rigging Inc./BAPS Auto Paints & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/Klick Lewis Cars/J.P. Adamsky Trucking/X-1 Race Cars/No. 3Z sprint car, earned his triumph during a first-ever visit to Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, South Dakota. The Open Wheel Nationals program, the first sprint car event for Zearfoss in over a month due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, concluded with just as much excitement as the event drew attention, as Zearfoss was able to climb from third to first after a restart with just five circuits remaining, eventually driving by Kerry Madsen and a stumbling Aaron Reutzel.

Zearfoss started third on the main event grid.

“At first, we didn’t have plans to make the trip, but I’m glad we did. It couldn’t have worked out any better,” Brock Zearfoss explained, who will compete with the All Star Circuit of Champions full-time once competition resumes. “Man, this is awesome. To everyone who made this happen, thanks so much, especially my team. Our schedule stopped, but the work didn’t. Shane and Tye busted their butts and our X-1 Race Car couldn’t have been any better. To roll out of the box like that and be competitive, after that much time off, says so much about what these guys can do.”

Brock Zearfoss kicked-off his evening in South Dakota with an impressive jump from sixth to second during heat race competition. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native was the fourth-fastest qualifier out of the 31 entries to take time.

Although the team hopes to return to normalcy, an upcoming agenda is still uncertain.

“Things are a little unclear right now as far as when and where we’ll be racing next, but we’ll be ready to go,” Zearfoss continued. “We’re pretty pumped up.”
