Caleb Armstrong finishes eighth during 70th Annual Little 500

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (May 29, 2018) – Despite getting caught up in an early-race incident, hit from behind after checking-up to avoid a spinning competitor with less than 100 laps complete, New Castle, Indiana’s Caleb Armstrong recovered in a big way during the 70th Annual Little 500 at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, ultimately rebounding to finish eighth at the final checkers after falling as far back as 23rd.

Armstrong, who drove the Randy Neal-owned/Neal Metal Recycling/Memorial Park Golf Course/Temptations/Snedigar’s Rib House/Beast Chassis/Penske Racing Shocks/All Star Performance/Wilwood Brakes/No. 7C sprint car during the 500-lapper, increased his Little 500 top-ten total to two with his recent result, nearly matching his performance in 2017 when Armstrong finished fifth. In addition, Armstrong owns two Little 500 pole awards, earning the quickest qualifying time in 2016 & 2017.

“It was a good way to bounce back, but I still feel like I don’t have any luck at that race,” Armstrong explained regarding his Little 500 results. “Regardless, I can’t thank Randy Neal and everyone involved for this opportunity. We really look forward to this event every year. Hopefully we can take advantage of our successful qualifying efforts one of these years and put ourselves in contention for a victory.”

With the Little 500 in his rearview mirror, Caleb Armstrong will look ahead and begin planning his return to dirt. Although he plans to return to winged sprint car competition soon, an exact schedule is undetermined. More information will be released at a later time.
