Chase Dietz and Scott Gobrecht Earn First Top-Ten of 2015
2015 Campaign Resumes Friday and Saturday at ‘The Grove’ and Lincoln
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
York, PA (May 27th, 2015) – After weeks of hard work and determination, mixed with periods of bad luck and inexperience, central Pennsylvania youngster Chase Dietz finally earned his first ‘410’ sprint car top-ten finish. Dietz, who pilots the Scott Gobrecht owned, Golf Cart Services, Bad Boy Buggies, ServiceMaster Clean Janitorial Service of York and Lancaster, Gettysburg Rental Company, no. 44 ‘410’ sprint car, finished ninth at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, May 23rd; charging forward from the 24th starting position to score a top-ten during the $5,000-to-win ‘Hilly Rife Memorial.’ The night did not start out as glamorous as it ended, as Dietz qualified for the ‘Hilly Rife Memorial’ main event via consolation.
“It was a great night for our team…didn’t start out like it though” explained Chase Dietz, “I spun the car during our heat race and ended up finishing way back…put us in the consolation where I had to start 11th…we had a few cautions go our way and we ended up making it up through and qualifying for the ‘A’…Scott and the guys gave me a great car for the A-main…we got going on the bottom and just charged our way up through…I think we were a little better than where we finished…I think if I had a little more experience, we would have been a fifth or sixth place car…regardless, we are thrilled…feels great to move up like that and earn ourselves a top-ten finish…it definitely builds some confidence…we’ll go back to work this Saturday at Lincoln.”
It was a career first top-ten finish for Chase Dietz during ‘410’ sprint car competition. Dietz and Scott Gobrecht have been regulars in the Pigeon Hills all season long, and will continue to make Lincoln Speedway their destination for ‘410’ competition each and every Saturday.
“Can’t thank Scott Gobrecht enough for this opportunity” said Chase Dietz, “We have Lincoln almost figured out for the most part and it feels good…we’ll keep plugging away and try to inch closer towards the front every time we hit the track.”
During other recent ‘410’ starts, Chase Dietz and the Gobrecht ‘44’ team traveled north to the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania on Sunday, May 24th; taking part in the ‘Ray Tilley Classic.’ Dietz would be scored 17th during the main event after making contact with the outside wall just beyond halfway.
“Our Selinsgrove trip was just a learning day for us” explained Chase Dietz, “We didn’t time the best and ran seventh in our heat race…we were going really well during the feature but made contact with the wall…regardless, we learned a lot about racing on the big tracks…we hope to make it back.”
Chase Dietz will be back in action in central Pennsylvania this Friday and Saturday, May 29th & 30th. The York, Pennsylvania native will visit the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, May 29th, followed by a trip back to the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, May 30th. Dietz will pilot the Troy Godfrey owned ‘358’ sprint car at ‘The Grove,’ and the familiar Gobrecht ‘44’ at Lincoln.
