CARLISLE, Pa. (August 1, 2022) – Officially stretching his top-ten streak to three, Lebanon, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports achieved nothing but consistency during their weekend outing in Weedsport, New York, ultimately capping the two-day Empire State Challenge with a pair of eighth-place finishes, each of which the product of forward progress. It should be noted that all three of Bayston’s recent top-tens have been eighth-place finishes, the first in the Summer Nationals finale at Williams Grove Speedway.

As mentioned, each of Bayston’s top-ten performances at Weedsport Speedway were the product of forward progress. On Saturday, July 30, Bayston climbed seven spots, followed by a four-spot rally on Sunday, July 31. The ace of the CJB Motorsports, TrueTimber, Signing Day Sports, Bubbly Brands, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car earned his way into the pair of Weedsport Speedway main events with fifth and fourth-place heat race finishes, respectively.

“Leaving New York with a pair of top-ten finishes is just what this team needed, especially with such a big two weeks ahead. Overall, it was a solid weekend and we’re pleased with it, especially with slower, slick tracks not being our strong suit,” Bayston said. “I feel like we made substantial progress this weekend. We made a lot of changes that helped with the overall balance of the car and they really seemed to help us at Weedsport.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the annual Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, August 5-6.
