Cody Bova Earns 2015 Mercer Track Title
Captures Win #5 to Clinch 2015 Championship

Struthers, Ohio (August 31, 2015) – Entering the 2015 season, Cody Bova had one goal and one mindset: earn the Mercer Raceway Park track title. The Struthers, Ohio native not only accomplished his goal, but did so in terrific fashion; capturing a main event victory during the last night of regular season competition at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The newest “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” champion earned five main event victories during his 2015 title chase, with two occurring during the last two point events of the season. Bova, pilot of the Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, J.S. Paris Excavating, #20B, 305ci powered “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” sprint car, led the entire feature event on Saturday night, August 29, officially ending the season with a 102 point cushion. It was a career-first track championship for the 22-year-old.
“This is unreal” said Bova, “I can’t thank everyone enough. I owe this championship to a lot of people, especially my family. They’ve been behind me one-hundred percent and I can’t thank them enough for their support. To end the season in victory lane is really special. I’m not exactly sure what is going to happen next year, but we are going to celebrate this win and this championship for the next few weeks. It feels amazing.”
During other recent competition, Cody Bova earned a pair of podium finishes at the Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pennsylvania. Bova piloted the Skip Dougherty owned #27, “305” sprinter during his pair of Thunder Mountain appearances, finishing second on Friday, August 28, and second again on Sunday, August 30. The Bova/Doughery duo own one win together in 2015, also occurring at the Brookville oval during “305” action.
“I want to thank Skip again for the opportunity this season” said Bova, “We’ve been good…found a great setup to use at Thunder Mountain in the ‘305’ and it has been working to our advantage. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to drive Skip’s ‘410’ sprint car also this season. I think our goal is to be a ‘410’ team full-time in the future. We have a great connection and I am excited to see how things go the rest of the year and in the future.”
