Cody Bova Earns Back-to-Back Podium Finishes
“Putzy Kekich Memorial” & Thunder Mountain Next On the Schedule

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Struthers, Ohio (August 5, 2015) –  The 2nd annual “Putzy Kekich Memorial” is set to take shape this Saturday evening, August 8, at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The event card will feature a full lineup of short track competition, including the 305ci powered “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” sprint cars. Cody Bova, who is currently second in the Mercer Raceway Park “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” standings and the defending “Putzy Kekich Memorial” champion, will join the field on Saturday night and work for a second consecutive $1,000 top prize. “Bonzai” Bova will use a pair of recent podium finishes as a momentum boost moving into the upcoming weekend.

“We had a few really good starts last weekend” said Bova, “Found ourselves on the podium twice, so that is something to be proud of. There is some bonus money on the line this Saturday at Mercer so we’ll work to get up front.”

Before venturing to Mercer Raceway Park, Cody “Bonzai” Bova will visit the Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pennsylvania on Friday night, August 7. Once again, Bova will pilot the Skip Dougherty Racing #27 at Thunder Mountain, working to improve his recent result by two positions. Bova and Skip Dougherty Racing put together a third place performance last Friday evening, July 31, after starting 15th. The Struthers, Ohio native nearly missed the feature program; making contact with the outside retaining wall during heat race action.

“What a team effort last Friday!” said Bova, “We had a part break on the car and it sent us into the fence during our heat race. Luckily, our team was able to recover quick enough. I want to thank all of the other teams who helped us get everything back together. We would have been sidelined without their help.”

Cody Bova earned his second podium finish of the recent weekend on Saturday evening, August 1, at Mercer Raceway Park; finishing second during feature action after starting sixth. The pilot of the  J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, J.S. Paris Excavating, #20B, “305” sprint car owns three feature victories at “MRP” in 2015 and will bring the familiar #20B back to the Mercer oval on Saturday for the “Putzy Kekich Memorial.”

“The car was really coming to us on Saturday at Mercer” said Bova, “We fell back a little bit after the initial start, but we got things rolling in a hurry. I feel like we may have had the car to beat, but we just ran out of time. We’ll try to improve by one position this Saturday.”
