Cody Bova Earns Win for Mother on ‘Race for a Cure Night’
Fourth Victory of 2015; Back On Top of ‘MRP’ Standings
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
Struthers, Ohio (July 21st, 2015) – Cody Bova, who celebrates a birthday on July 21st, earned his fourth ‘305’ sprint car victory lane appearance of the 2015 season during the recent weekend; capturing the ‘Outlaw Sprint Warriors’ main event win on Saturday, July 18th at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. It was Bova’s third ‘MRP’ victory of the 2015 season, allowing the Struthers, Ohio native to officially retake command of the Mercer Raceway Park ‘Outlaw Sprint Warriors’ track championship standings. The win took shape on “American Cancer Society Race for a Cure Night” at the 3/8-mile dirt oval, and despite the long list of potential people to thank and consider, Cody Bova dedicated the win to his mother, Sherri Bova; a 12-year breast cancer survivor and the number one supporter of Bova Racing.
“It was pretty special to win on Saturday night…that one was for my mom” said Cody Bova, “She’s been behind my brother and I since we started this racing deal. I don’t know what I would do without her.”
Cody Bova and the Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, J.S. Paris Excavating, ‘20B’ operation will return to Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday evening, July 25th. ‘Bonzai’ will enter the ‘Saturday Night Live’ program with a 16 point advantage in the current track championship standings. A track title in 2015 would be a career first accomplishment for the ‘Buckeye State’ native.
Cody Bova plans to enter a total of three events during the upcoming weekend; adding Thunder Mountain Speedway and the recently reopened Tri-City Raceway Park to the weekend agenda. Bova will once again pilot the Skip Dougherty Racing ‘27’ on Friday night, July 24th back at the Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pennsylvania. The duo have one win together in 2015 and will search to double that win total this Friday night. With their one victory on the year, a ‘305’ track championship is still possible at the Brookville oval.
The upcoming weekend schedule will also include a Sunday afternoon road trip north to the Tri-City Raceway Park near Franklin, Pennsylvania. The ‘305’ sprint cars will compete for an $800 payday on Sunday night at the recently reopened facility; joining the BRP Big Block Modifieds and the ‘410’ Sprint Cars on the racing card.
“We have a lot planned for this weekend so hopefully it all works out” said Bova, “I want to race as much as I can. We have the potential to race three times every weekend. Sometimes it works out where we can, and other times it doesn’t, but regardless, we have the mindset to race as often as possible. I want to thank my entire family, Skip Dougherty and all of my sponsors for the opportunities placed in front of me this year. Hopefully we can get a few more wins and keep a hot streak alive.”
