Cody Bova Races for Mercer Title on Saturday!
Enters Final Weekend Ahead by 20 Points

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Struthers, Ohio (August 24, 2015) – Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania will crown division champions for the 2015 season on Saturday evening, August 29, and Struthers, Ohio native Cody Bova intends to be one of them. Bova, a four-time main event winner at Mercer in 2015 aboard  his familiar Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, #20B, 305ci sprint car, will enter the final weekend of points at Mercer Raceway Park with a 20 point advantage in the “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” standings. With double points on the line this Saturday night, Bova will need to finish ahead of championship rival George Hobaugh during main event competition. A Mercer Raceway Park title in 2015 would be a career-first achievement for Cody Bova and Bova Racing.

“This is something we have been working for all year long” said Cody Bova, “We have the advantage going into the final night of points, but we’ll still need to finish up front. We have the potential to do so. I just want to thank everyone who makes this race team possible; my family, all of my sponsors, our crew. They made this year happen so hopefully I can win a title for them this weekend.”

Cody Bova will enter the weekend will a recent podium finish at Mercer Raceway Park. “Auto Racers for Kids Night” was featured at the Mercer short track on Saturday, August 22, highlighted with a non-points, $1,000-to-win main event for the “Outlaw Sprint Warriors.” Bova finished second on Saturday night; improving from a outside second row starting position.

“Bonzai” had his first true taste of “410” sprint car competition on Friday night, August 21, at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Bova piloted the Skip Dougherty Racing #27 on Friday evening at “The Action Track.” Despite the evening being cut short due to mechanical woes, Bova still gained valuable seat time and looks forward to returning to the driver seat.

“We had a few issues with the car, but overall had a pretty good night” said Cody Bova, “My goal is to gain as much seat time as possible. I learned a lot about racing a ‘410’ on Friday and I learned a lot about Lernerville. I just want to thank Skip Dougherty for giving me the opportunity. Hopefully we can schedule in a few more ‘410’ shows this season. I am excited to see what the future holds.”
