York, PA (April 7th, 2013) – After suffering from mechanical failure during feature action at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, April 5th, it would appear that Cory Haas’ bad luck would have run dry for the remainder of the weekend. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Haas would find the negative luck once again, and run into some trouble while contending for the top spot during the ‘410’ sprint car main event at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, April 6th.

The pilot of the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc., York P-B Truss, Inc,. ‘11C’ would make contact with a lapped-car while racing for a top three position during Lincoln Speedway’s main event on Saturday; resulting in a caution, and the surrender of his spot in the running order. The former Lincoln Speedway ‘358’ Sprint Car Track Champion would resume action at the tail of the field and rally quickly; climbing back through the field for a 12th place finish. Fred Rahmer would win the 25-lap, $3,200-to-win main event at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway. There were twenty-three (23) ‘410’ sprint cars signed in for action.

Cory Haas, and the entire Mike Barshinger owned ‘11C’ operation, will be back in action this Friday and Saturday, April 12th & 13th, in Central Pennsylvania; with the potential of having a third event on the schedule for Sunday, April 14th. Haas will make his usual appearance at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, April 12th. The defending ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ winner at the speedway sits just outside the top ten in the current Williams Grove Speedway ‘410’ driver standings.

The Barshinger/Haas ‘11C’ will then make the tow to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, April 13th, for another evening of ‘410’ competition at the Pigeon Hills oval. Haas finds himself just outside the top five of the current driver’s standings. The York, Pennsylvania native has one (1) top five and three (3) top ten finishes at the the 3/8’s mile oval already this season.

The Susquehanna Speedway Park in Newberrytown, Pennsylvania will be hosting the ‘410’ sprinters for the first time in 2013 on Sunday evening, April 14th. Cory Haas and the Barshinger team have not made definite plans about making an appearance in Newberrytown on Sunday, but it is certainly never out of the question. The annual ‘Sprint Car Spring Class’ will celebrate it’s fourth running this Sunday;  also featuring the ‘358’ sprint cars on the evening card.
