Williams Grove Speedway 358 Sprints Debut Friday For Double With 410s
4/7/13

Mechanicsburg – For the first time this season, the Tool Shed of America 358 sprints will cut loose at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, April 12, racing in a dual card program along with the 410 sprint cars.

The first heat race is slated for 7:30 pm.

The 358 sprints will join the marquee Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars for an open wheel doubleheader this week.

Pat Cannon of Etters is the undisputed king of 358 sprinting at Williams Grove.

Over the last several years he has pushed his overall win total to a list topping 28 along with five track titles.

In fact, Cannon has won the last three consecutive 358 sprint titles at the track coming into 2013.

But that title may be up for grabs beginning on Friday night.

Cannon has plans to focus more on 410 sprint racing this season and that will quite possibly open up the competition in the 358 ranks.

Last year, the Williams Grove 358 division offered up nearly a dozen different winners including Cannon, Nate Hammaker, Glenndon Forsythe, Matt Mountz, Kevin Nouse, Adrian Shaffer, Mark Smith, TJ Stutts, Eric Tomecek, Rodney Westhafer and Ryan Wilson.

A change to the 358 division lineup procedure this season will find the heat races lined up by a draw system with regular handicapping being used to set the feature grid.

A full program of heat races and features for both sprint divisions is slated for Friday.

So far this season, 410 sprint winners at the track have been Fred Rahmer on March 29 and Danny Dietrich on April 5.

Williams Grove Speedway will showcase the 410 sprints with the Spring Classic Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial on April 19 before welcoming the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints on April 26.

The Williams Grove Saturday Night Series headlined by the super sportsman is slated to kickoff on April 20.
