York, PA (July 17th, 2013) – With what has been an obvious ‘up and down’ year for Cory Haas and the entire Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ sprint car team, Haas will attempt to alter that recent trend, and make a big momentum change this weekend as ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ is set to invade the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania this Friday and Saturday, July 19th & 20th for the annual ‘Summer Nationals.’ Haas, who is a one-time winner at the Williams Grove Speedway half-mile during the early parts of the 2013 season, will take-on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series during both programs at ‘The Grove’ this Friday and Saturday; and hopefully be in contention for the $20,000 ‘Summer Nationals’ top prize on Saturday night. Haas has never won a World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series main event, but will have two (2) opportunities to do so this weekend.

Cory Haas, who pilots the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., Thornton Chevrolet, Tailgaters Grill & Drafthouse, no. 11C ‘410’ sprint car weekly in Central Pennsylvania, will take-on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series during ‘Summer Nationals’ competition beginning Friday evening, July 19th at the Williams Grove Speedway. Friday night’s program will be highlighted with a 25-lap A-main; awarding $8,000 to the winner. The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will wrap-up their ‘Summer Nationals’ visit with a 30-lap, $20,000-to-win finale on Saturday evening, July 20th. Haas’ most recent finish during World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series competition at Williams Grove Speedway resulted in an eleventh (11th) place finish during the spring program’s Last Chance Showdown. Additional ‘Summer Nationals’ information can be found online at www.williamsgrove.com.

The Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ team will actually jump start their upcoming weekend with ‘410’ action at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The Pigeon Hills 3/8’s mile oval will be hosting a Thursday night program on July 18th. Haas, who is a former ‘358’ sprint car track champion at the Lincoln Speedway, and the Williams Grove Speedway, is still searching for his first Lincoln Speedway win of the 2013 season. A win Thursday night would assure a drastic momentum change heading into the Williams Grove ‘Summer Nationals.’ Haas finds himself seventh (7th) in the current Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ sprint car driver standings; on the strength of five (5) top-five finishes. The York, Pennsylvania native will also enter the weekend thirteenth (13th) in the current Central PA sprint car standings. Thursday night’s program will also feature qualifying time trials for the ‘410’ sprint cars.
