Danny Dietrich Earns Knoxville B-Main Start, Four Races in Four Days On Deck!

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, PA. (August 15, 2016) – “Double-D” Danny Dietrich represented the “Pennsylvania Posse” fans well during the 56th running of the Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa, qualifying for Saturday night’s B-main after finishing 12th during preliminary competition on Wednesday evening, August 10. Unfortunately for Dietrich, the potential to qualify for Saturday night’s $150,000-to-win main event for a second consecutive year ended quickly, the consequence of contact with another competitor during the initial B-main start, ultimately resulting in a broken front axle. Dietrich would be scored 24th.

“Not a bad week. I was ‘OK’ for the most part. We had a few things not go our way, but that’s how racing goes at times,” Dietrich explained. “We needed to put ourselves in a better position after qualifying during our preliminary night. Timing 22nd-quick doesn’t do a lot for you in terms of points. Those two laps really set the tone for the entire week. Luckily for me, I have a great team who stayed focused the entire time we were out there. Qualifying for the B-main is a little short compared to where we were last year, but regardless, we’ll take what we learned, stay proud of what we accomplished, and move on. I just want to send out a special shoutout to our fans who traveled out to Knoxville to cheer us on. Feels good to have support like we do. We certainly appreciate it.”

In addition to a Knoxville Nationals B-main start, bettering the majority of the 107 competitors on track during the course of the weekend, Danny Dietrich also finished fourth during the Speed Sport World Challenge on Friday night, August 12.

With little time to waste, Danny Dietrich will continue his 2016 campaign with four upcoming events stretching from Thursday, August 18, to Sunday, August 21, all of which at four different Central Pennsylvania facilities. The pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48 entry will follow the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions for the first three days of his four-race weekend, visiting Grandview Speedway on Thursday, Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, and Lincoln Speedway on Saturday. Dietrich is certainly no stranger to Arctic Cat All Star competition in the state of Pennsylvania, winning at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove earlier this season. All three events during the upcoming weekend will award a $5,000 top prize.

Dietrich will complete his weekend travels on Sunday, August 21, by participating in Justin Snyder’s Salute to the Troops event at Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven, also awarding $5,000.

“We have an opportunity to make a lot of noise this weekend,” Dietrich said. “With bigger purse money on the line for four consecutive days, it’s hard not to get excited. My team does a great job preparing us for a long stretch of races like this. It’s my job to capitalize and put us in a position where we can win races. We’re excited to get started. We like to stay busy.”
